It is in a quiet resort that sits on a beautiful beach with the most crazy ocean views you will find. You have the most amazing oceanfront view possible. I had no idea it sits as close to the beach as it does. The pictures don't do it justice at all - it is so beautiful and tranquil. I was in this unit before they remodeled it, and wow - beyond what I thought was possible! The bed is soo comfortable, and with all the windows the trade winds keep it cool - love the sound of the ocean. The staff is amazing and so helpful. We love the shops across the street to pick something up as a treat, or a walk down to the Coconut Marketplace. We picked bikes there one day for a stroll on the bike path. We will continue to come back to unit 9 - our home away from home!

My wife and I rent the house for our families to stay for our wedding at the St Regis Princeville and it was perfect choice. The house is in pretty good condition with all the necessary amenities plus its location is ideal. Also, we enjoyed amazing sunsets from the lanai while grilling and relaxing over some nice glasses of wine. We had a small problem with the dishwasher which was promptly taken care of by the property management company.

We spent 8 days at this condo at the beginning of July 2014 with our 3 teenagers (15-17 and 19). The condo is really spacious and is very nice (decoration) and very clean. Outside, the landscape is beautiful. The location, near Kapaa was perfect since it is central . On the north shore we did some trekking on the Napali Cost, surf in Hanalei bay and visited many nice beaches. The condo is also few minutes from Wailua river, on which we did some kayaking. The south shore is also not very far and we visited the Waimea Canyon, Hanapepe and Poipu beach. Kauai is really fantastic (we were on Maui the week before).
The condo is located at 5 minutes from Foodland and Safeway, which is very convenient. Walmart (15 minutes) and Costco (20 mintes) are also not too far. As mentioned by other reviewers, the pool and the BBQ were appreciated. We definitively recommend this condo.

Great unit! The unit was as advertised in terms of amenities, space, views, etc. The two lanais are a particular plus on this unit. The building, grounds, and unit are top notch. Access to the beach is the only thing they need to work on, and it needs a lot of work. The "stairway" down to the beach isn't much of one and makes access at times very difficult. For a beachfront property that must be addressed.

When we walked in the door all we could see was ocean - it is such a peaceful setting. The unit was so beautiful and had everything we needed, and the owner was great to work with. We had stayed in this unit last year, and the updates the new owner made are amazing, and really set this unit off from the others! We love the quietness of the resort and the location is perfect for what we like to do on island, if staying near by or going to North Shore. Passion Bakery across the street is great for morning coffee or a quick treat before heading out in the morning. We love hearing the waves at night, and spending some peaceful time on the lanai. The trade winds keep the unit nice and cool. We frequently visit Kauai, and we will continue to come back to Kapaa Sands Unit 9!
