My wife & I stayed at Sandcastles with our family; 7 adults, + 2 grandchildren ages 1 & 4. Sandcastles exceeded our expectations. It’s a very comfortable home. Its spaciousness afforded tons of room for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped. The floor plan creates ocean views from every room. The high vaulted ceilings add to the feeling of spaciousness. The deck that surrounds the home features a hot tub. The mud room downstairs contains plenty of snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, & toys for the kids. There’s even fishing gear if one is interested in casting a line in the surf. The tiled space on the ground level below the house is a great feature. It was a cool place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful grounds that surround the home, which are very well maintained, & only add to the sense of luxury one feels at Sandcastles. The private beach is just steps away. We didn’t swim at this beach as it was a bit rough & wild during our stay in late January; early February. But beautiful Anahola Beach is just up the road 8/10’s of a mile. Anahola Beach proved to be our favorite beach on the island. It’s mostly frequented by locals who bring their families to play on the beach & the Anahola River that enters the sea here. This is a fantastic place for the family to hang out for the day. Further up the beach is Anahola Beach Park, which has the usual park amenities plus a lifeguard. As the property is located at the very end of a dead-end road guests are afforded tons of privacy; No traffic-No tourist. One feels like they have all of Kauai to themselves. The location is also convenient to Kapaa, a nice laidback tourist type town with plenty of restaurants, shops, & other tourists’ attractions. We highly recommend Sandcastles. It felt like our home in paradise. It should also be noted that the property manager, Bali Hai & Lisa were attentive to even our smallest needs. They made sure our stay was one to remember.
