We stayed at Anini Ohana Hale for 9 nights, and loved it! It was very homey and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was wonderful in quiet and peaceful Anini Beach. It was a short drive to Kilauea, Princeville and Hanalei, and a gorgeous
40 minute drive to Ke’e Beach at the end of the road. Although it is not the very best beach for snorkeling compared to Tunnels, Ke’e, and Poipu, it is decent (we *did* see some fish and turtles). It IS, however, the best swimming beach due to its very long (about 2 miles) protective reef. It is also an excellent place for SUP boarding and kayaking. The home is about a 1 minute walk across the street to the beach, which is one of the best things about staying at this home. The kitchen & laundry room were certainly handy to have. There is a large backyard facing jungle and a dining table and barbecue grill. The outdoor area for cleaning after the beach or a muddy hike that is mentioned in the description is actually just a garden hose, unlike all the other vacation homes where we have stayed on Kauai that have outdoor showers. The main house that is facing the street has a shower, however this is the guest cottage in the back and the shower is not shared. The air conditioning units in most of the rooms were very loud. We turned them off and opened all the window louvers and turned on all the ceiling fans. That provided enough cooling and air circulation, and it was nice to hear the birds instead of electric air conditioning units. I could tell, however, the AC would be necessary if it was very hot, however it was not so during our stay (end of September-early October). Beach towels, beach chairs and other beach equipment or available for use. All in all this vacation home is excellent and we would certainly stay here again.
