My family of 4, my mom and MIL all stayed here for 4 nights beginning of April. A little worried about no AC (husband is high maintenance) – but the temp in the house was great because we had a constant breeze from the ocean. Went to sleep every night listening to the waves crash in. Everyone in our party loved the house and the views. Melissa, the caretaker was very responsive to text messages and very helpful. It’s about a 30-35 minute drive to Hilo downtown, so keep in mind, you’ll be driving if you want to do in-town activities. Only downside I had, there’s a beautiful kitchen table that takes water stains easily (Koa wood I believe) and they ask you to use coasters and with an 8 year old, I was constantly trying to keep track of where she was sitting her water glass – so that caused a little angst (as I didn’t want to incur a potential damage charge). This was minor compared to the overall experience in the house – which was great.
