Great owner support; local contact/caretaker Melissa was very helpful with suggestions and knowledge of the Pohoa area. Special thanks for the tip on the drive from the house to the tide pools and beyond via the extension of Rt. 137. The first 4 miles or so are unpaved and narrow but pass through a beautiful old growth tropical forest. Take your time, watch for the ruts, give way to on coming traffic, enjoy the ride…we did it twice, both ways in a small rental car with no issues.
The home is situated ideally for easy day trips to Kona Coast, HVNP, and Hilo area. The house provided everything we needed and more…very nice place for families and anyone who is looking for a quiet, beautiful vacation spot on the Big Island. Mahalo!
