Neighborhood

The neighborhood:
Kihei is a breezy, beachfront community along Maui's southwest coast, known for sweeping ocean views and a relaxed, residential atmosphere. With long stretches of sand like Sugar Beach and calm mornings ideal for paddleboarding or leisurely walks, North Kihei offers a peaceful escape without being far from the action. It's just a short drive to Maalaea Harbor and central Maui, putting whale watching tours, snorkel cruises, and island excursions well within reach. Thanks to its quieter, low-key vibe, North Kihei is a go-to spot for families, couples, and repeat visitors craving a calmer side of paradise.

Places to Visit During Your Stay:
• Road to Hana
• Maui Ocean Center, The Aquarium of Hawaii
• Maui Pineapple Tour
• Haleakalā Sunrise/Sunset
• Molokini Crater Snorkel

Transit

Getting around:
Getting around Maui is easiest with a rental car, which we highly recommend for exploring the island at your own pace. The Koa Resort provides complimentary parking for your convenience during your stay. While public bus transportation is available on the island, routes can be limited in certain areas, so having a vehicle offers the most flexibility. Kahului Airport is the primary gateway to the island and is located approximately twenty five minutes away by car. From the resort, you are centrally positioned to drive to major island attractions like Haleakala and the Road to Hana.
