Enjoyed sitting in the lounge chairs right next to the beach and water. Nice that our unit had beach chairs to sit directly on the beach. There is a nice deli onsite for food and drinks which was nice. Close to activities and restaurants. Would definitely recommend Sugar Beach Resort as well as stay here again.

The diner onsite was a nice place to get food and drink. Enjoyed our mornings sitting out on the lanai eating breakfast or just enjoying the view. Could occasionally see whales out in front of the condo area. Took several walks on the beach and enjoyed sitting in the lounge chairs out near the water as well. Would definitely recommend staying here when in Maui and would definitely come back ourselves.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed in this unit and once again it did not disappoint! Check-in is beyond easy as they send you the door lock code the day prior. Everything in the unit itself is clean, the bed is comfy, it has all the cooking utensils needed to make meals if you want. The best part of this unit is the view, beach, ocean and the pool all in one! We are already planning our next visit.

Sugar Beach is the perfect location for exploring Maui. My view and accommodation at 308 were absolutely wonderful. The resort is centrally located to make an adventures easy to access.
You will love the beautiful sunset from 308 and my favorite walking the beach in the early morning as the sun rises.
Pool perfect for mini lap swimming and the jacuzzi so relaxing. You will find everything you need to comfortably relax during your stay.

Very comfortable condo & very clean. Wonderful view from the deck. Grounds were well maintained. Small bar/restaurant on sight was a bonus. The beach is a great walking beach. There is not much you can do about Mother Nature- we had several windy days and the beach water was muddy looking & not clear. Otherwise, very nice place on the ocean.

This place was perfect for exactly what we wanted. The Bed is very comfortable and King size. The Kitchen is all new appliances, the A/C worked well, the patio has huge doors for getting some fresh air and views of the ocean. The pool and hot tube area was easily accessible and a good relaxing place. The location is center island, its a pretty good spot for day adventures around the island.

Overall pleased with our stay. The condo itself is exactly as pictured. Very nice and clean. Pretty much anything you need is available. Nice touch with welcome gift. Great little sandwich shop on premises with super nice staff. The outside of the building does need some updating, but don’t let that deter you in any way. Only complaint would be checking in at the front office for parking permit… We love to explore, so the first couple days we were up and off the property before the office opened & returned after they were closed or when we did get a chance to go during the day the office was closed for Lunch. We never had an issue with parking, so it wasn’t a big deal. We would definitely stay here again!!

My partner and I really enjoyed staying here during our visit to Maui. The condo is nicely updated and was cleaned really well when we checked in. The balcony has a beautiful view overlooking the water and the pool. We spent each night enjoying the view and having a drink on our balcony. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything you might need. There were beach chairs and a cooler in the closet which was a nice addition. Although we quickly noticed that both beach chairs had either a ripped handle or broken straps so they didn't stay closed and were impossible to carry to the beach.
The AC worked really well and kept the condo cool, especially when we closed the curtains when we weren't in the living room.
The pool and hot tub area were nice and never too busy. We were always able to find an open lounge chair. The ground are well maintained and the community was not loud at all.
There was always parking available and we never had to circle around to find a spot.
The only thing that was annoying was how early the check out was at 10 am, coupled with the fact that the cleaning crew showed up and rang the doorbell about 5 min before check out time which brought us a lot of anxiety and panic as we were already trying to gather garbage and finish up the last of the check out procedures.
Overall, I thought this was a really nice place and would stay here again next time I am in Maui.

Very clean place and amazing view from balcony. And location is close to everything. We walked on beach every morning to get to Sugar bakery store. Pool area is not crowded so you can enjoy or sit on chair to enjoy beach view. U practically have beach to yourself. Highly recommended staying at 308.

My now fiancé and I stayed here for 10 days and it was amazing! The pictures of the unit do not do it justice, the views from the lanai are spectacular. We woke up to whales every morning and watched the sunset every night. The kitchen has everything to prepare meals if needed, the a/c works great, having a washer and dryer in the unit was nice. The resort, overall, was nice, quiet, lawns well kept and there was always loungers available at the pool. We will defiantly be staying here again. Loved Sugar Beach!!

Perfect location for us. Beautiful view, steps from the beach. The unit had everything we could possibly need. I could not have been happier with our choice. If we ever come back we will most definitely try and get this unit again. The only down fall was that the dryer was broke. We were offered laundry service if we needed it so that was a good alternative. Only being here a week, it was not really a problem for us.

The place was clean and comfortable. The glasses n cups had some stains on it, other than that everything was pretty clean. It was well stocked with all essentials, kitchen appliances and beach gear. The location was perfect, close to the beach and stores. The resort grounds, pool and hot-tub were great. The door code during check-in was incorrect. We spent a lot of time talking to the Vacasa people and trying the different codes they sent us. Finally one of their on-site crew came and helped us unlock the room door. This was the only hiccup during our otherwise lovely stay here. We hope to be back again!

This unit exceeded our expectations! Beautifully appointed living spaces and a fabulous kitchen with everything you might need to cook in. The pool setting here is the best I've ever experienced complete with sea turtles frolicking in the waves just over the cliff and seaspray often hitting the edge of the pool.

We had a great time in Maui at the Sugar beach resort in Kihei which is a central location to all the activities. The view from the balcony was glorious and a great start to the day’s activities planning and enjoying breakfast there. I found the beds including the sofa bed adequate for our needs. When we go back again would be looking forward to a newer sofa bed with a firm base :-) The amenities for beaches and snorkeling gear which you can rent at the property at a nominal price was very helpful. With all the activities packed in during our stay, this was a great home base to look forward to at the end of each day. Thanks for having us!!

Where do I begin? First of all, the photos and description are 100% true to how the unit is in person. I have stayed in other units at the Sugar Beach Resort that were also nice, but a bit outdated and less expensive, but based on the photos and the description, I opted for unit #308 and was SO happy I did! Not only was it remodeled, it was upgraded with higher end materials, which included everything from the flooring, to the appliances, to the bathroom, linens and towels, furniture, the window shades and curtains and the decor which all had a wonderful matching flow throughout the unit. The kitchen is loaded with practically everything you need. The host even left a generous amount of dishwasher pods and a couple of packs of laundry detergent, extra rubbish bags and a fresh roll of paper towels. The owner posted very detailed instructions on every item that one might need instructions for, which was a very helpful touch! You don't even need to try and figure out which of the 3 remote controls to use for the TV! One of the other units I've stayed in, had a full oceanfront view, but having a view of the ocean, pool area, koi pond and the courtyard area was even more enjoyable! We sat on the lanai for most meals and really loved our view. In the bedroom, it has a very comfortable king-size bed and nightstands with lamps on both sides. There are plenty of drawers and hangars for your clothes. In the closet, you'll find a massive amount of useful items, such as a pair of folding Tommy Bahama beach chairs, an ice cooler, 4 beach towels, a yoga mat, ironing board, extra bed pillows and linens, tote bags and various beach toys for kids. The beautiful bathroom has a great step-in shower stall with a little cubby area for your shower toiletries and an abundance of towels and several rolls of toilet paper. The vanity has drawers to store other toiletries and includes a good quality hairdryer and a small mirror. The A/C cools the whole unit pretty quickly and there are ceiling fans in the dining area as well as in the bedroom. One final sweet touch, was that we were greeted with a cute, insulated bag that was packed with treats! I found that to be the cherry on top! Mahalo for sharing this beautiful unit to guests. I would really love to stay here again, for all of my future Maui trips!

We really liked this condo. It had all of the necessities and was well done. A few minor things needed repaired: ceiling fan squeaked so bad it was unusable, the towel rod kept falling down; but these are all minor things and nothing that would stop me from giving it 5 stars.

Jim and Toni were amazing hosts! They were easy to reach if needed and one of the best hosts we’ve ever had. Toni was very flexible for a late check out for our red eye flight. We were able to enjoy our last day in Sugar Beach without feeling rushed out of the condo. The condo was beautiful, the location was perfect, and the beach was amazing. We woke up early every morning to watch the sunrise from the balcony and enjoy our coffee. The grounds were very well kept and the pool was great! Wow, what a great place! Totally updated 1 bedroom condo with an amazing view of the ocean. A perfect place for whale watching from the balcony. You can pack light when staying here. They thought of everything; towels, snorkels, boogie boards, cooler, umbrella, beach chairs, the list goes on... This place was so well thought out in every room. The kitchen is more then fully stocked with spices, dishes, coffee & tea makers... Everything you need for grilling out in the common area right on the ocean! Great pool and hot tub. A great little farmers market and ABC store right down the street. The king bed was super comfortable. The condo owners were super accommodating and helpful. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and had a wonderful time! We will be back.

We loved our time at Sugar Beach in 308. The condo had everything we needed as then some. Really appreciated the little lantern for walking after dark and the full host of kitchen utensils as well as spices. The bed was super comfortable as was the furniture on the deck. We visited during a rainy and cloudy week and it was still super relaxing and felt like home. The only feedback was in regards to cleanliness, the dresser was dusty and some of the pots/frying pans were a bit sticky from past guests not cleaning them well enough. Would definitely stay here again!

It was such a pleasure to stay in this unit. Everything is in excellent condition and the decor is very nice. The well equipped unit goes far and beyond any other unit we have stayed in. Everything is labeled including the tv remotes washer & dryer. Great location to see the sunsets, pool and the koi pond. This unit is extremely well maintained and clean. They have good quality beach chairs, umbrellas and plenty of beach towels. I would love to stay again in this unit. The only thing I think it could use is a magnifying mirror for the bathroom for us with bad eyesight 😄. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful condo and caring for it lithe way you do.

Third floor condo unit in an elevator building is beautiful and fully stocked with everything you need for vacation and for beach fun including towels, boogie boards, chairs, umbrella. We loved the ocean view although it isn't exactly an "ocean front" unit.
I'd prefer a larger cooler and if they had cold packs in the freezer it would be helpful.
The kitchen cabinets and drawers are labeled making it easy to find items.
The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and not a traditional hall bath. The bedroom has a sliding door so you can have privacy and keep the noise down. The a/c worked fine but disconnects when the lania door opens. This is fine most of the time but for sleeping you may need the air on so you have to close the doors and therefore can't hear the ocean at all. The bedroom is near the parking lot and busy road so you probably couldn't hear the water anyway.
We didn't speak to the management company other than for the key pick up and parking pass. We didn't make it to the bakery or shave ice place down the beach a bit but the canoe clubs meet there and we saw some races which was really cool. The Hawaiian canoes are large and cool to see!
Loved the soft sand on Sugar Beach and great sunsets from the lanai or the beach. It got really windy two evenings and we couldn't stay on the sand.. The weather may be different but the water at the beach and south of Kihei to Makena was calm and very welcoming.

The condo was amazing, everything you could possibly need for your vacation was in this condo. The bedding and towels were top of the line. All the appliances and kitchen supplies were just like you would use at home. They have thought of everything you would need and more.
The complex it’s self was beautiful, they cleaned the pool area, bbq and grounds everyday.
From the booking to departure was so easy and communication was fabulous.
I’m hoping we will be able to return one day! If you are looking for an amazing place to stay for you Hawaii holiday this is the place for you.

We stayed in this condo for our wedding and honeymoon on Maui. We had friends that stayed all over the island and this place is the best value and experience of them all. All of our other travel companions loved our condo the best.
The entire condo was labeled which was funny at first but proved to be very very useful. Also so many things were provided for us shampoo, conditioner and Dove body bars at the bathroom sink and in the shower. I loved this place and we will plan on staying here again when we come back.
Check in instructions were easy and easy to check in. I loved not having a key and the code was easy to manage.
We drank coffee on the balcony every morning and watched the waves. This place is just amazing so clean and beautiful. I am so so glad we stayed here. Our security deposit was returned within a day of checking out too which was awesome.
Stay here you won't regret it.

With more than we can ask for! The check in process was smooth. Jim & Toni was very helpful with the questions we had. The view was breathtaking. It was such a nice & quite place to stay at. Everything was labeled and very easy to find. One of the best places to stay in Kihei.
We were here for a wedding a Sugar Beach events which is less than a 5 min walk away.
They have daily water aerobics at 8am. I woke up the next day and did aerobics with the regulars. They were so nice and welcoming! I wish we had a chance to stay longer, but will be back to stay here again!

From the time I opened the door to the time I left, this condo was an amazing part of my trip. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the lanai, updated appliances and a very positive and energizing, yet calming place. The beach chairs and a late night were a great way to experience the Milky Way and the rest of the solar system.
Every amenity I needed, and everything labeled and easy to find.
Centrally located with a massage bar, restaurant, and travel agent on site.
The only mistake you could make is to NOT select this rental!

We were confident when we booked this condo for our honeymoon in Maui that it would be a nice, clean place to stay. We had no idea that our expectations would be completely surpassed!
Toni and Jim’s condo is definitely my favourite place we’ve ever stayed on vacation. It is sparkling clean, the king bed was comfortable, and the kitchen is so well stocked and had everything we could possibly need for kitchen staples for cooking and storing food. We ate breakfast on the lanai in the morning and watched the sunset in the evening. The beach is so close and there were lots of chairs. We didn’t even go in the pool because we loved playing in the waves so much.
The location is perfect. You are so close to the airport and Kahului for cheaper gas at Costco and other shopping needs, and also an easy drive to Lahaina, Wailea, Paia and other destinations on the island. There was never a lot of traffic, where Lahaina has a lot more headed in that direction.
We also took advantage of the lovely travel agents on site, who helped us book the best luau and zip line adventure, plan our trip on the road to Hana, and answered so many other questions for us about activities and planning.
We don’t have enough wonderful things to say about our stay here. I hope someday we will be able to come back!

For sunset you dont need to go anywhere, you get to see it from lanai.
Checkin process was smooth, We received door code 2-3 days before arrival.
We requested late checkout, and luckily unit was available and owners were kind enough to let us stay beyond the usual checkout time.
Location wise Sugar beach resort is right in the centre, You are 15-20 mins away from airport, wailea and 30 min from lahaina.
I would stay here again.
Ps: From airport directly go to unit and then see what you need to buy.

We had a bad experience with the sanwich shop on the resort but everything else was great. Kihei was a better location on Maui than I’ve been at before as well.

I've spent almost a week in Maui, at the condo, and it was one of the best in years ! Yes, Maui is very charming and there is so much beauty around. But the condo was more than we have expected: location is perfect, it had everything we'd ever needed and the sunset you can see from the balcony is to die for ! We only had to buy food and drinks - everything else was in there. Very thoughtful. You are 2 min away walk from a beautiful beach or you can use the outside swimming pool and jacuzzi. We had no problem at all to park the car or reach Airport, Cotsco, Lahaina or others. It is so beautiful, peaceful and comfortable that we did not wish to leave ! We charged our batteries there and we wish to return as soon as possible. Toni, the landlord, was very kind and helpful and everything went smoothly because of her attention to detail. So take my advise - don't think twice, find this 'home away from home' condo beautifully decorated and enjoy a glass of wine on a balcony that has the perfect sunset that you'll remember for years. Enjoy !!!!

We had a wonderful time in Maui. The apartment is beautifully furnished with particular attention to all the details for the best comfort. Couldn’t have been better. Apartment was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed and lots of personal touches; and local design. Location was great, only a few steps away from the lovely sandy beach and only a few minutes drive away from the supermarkets and local shops.
The best part of it all is that Sugar Beach #308 has the perfect spot for a picturesque sunset and it never fails. Everytime when the sun sets, it draws you up to the terrace and you cannot help but gaze and enjoy on that astonishing picture perfect scenery right before your very eyes. Truly, it was a great and a relaxing holiday indeed.

From the moment we booked we knew we made the right decision. Any questions we had, were not only addressed promptly but very thoroughly with pleasure. Arriving at the resort and opening the door to our temporary home, was nothing but reassuring that we undoubtedly made the right choice. The condo was welcoming and suited my husband and I perfectly. As we explored the island, our location at sugar beach resort was certainly on point with our wants for our honeymoon - laid back, quiet, yet beach front within footsteps and central to all our exploring. We appreciated coming back each night to the condo to sit back and relax whether that be in the hot tub or in the comfy chairs on the lanai. I honestly can’t say enough positives about this place. We had an amazing honeymoon and our choice in staying in #308 at Sugar Beach Resort was a large part of that. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely! Would we come back? No doubt we will!
Beautiful Sugar Beach Condo

We rented this Sugar Beach condo for 4 nights in early October and had an absolutely great time. The unit was incredibly clean and well stocked. The pictures very accurately depicted everything. The owners provided very clear instructions for everything and were extremely easy to work with. The folks at the office when we checked in were very friendly and helpful.
The pool is very nice, lots of lounge chairs there and on the grass area in front of the ocean. Never had a problem getting two lounges even without staking out spaces early in the morning. The beach isn't super wide, but wide enough to sit on the beach. The owners have beach chairs, boogie boards, a cooler -- even fins and snorkel although we didn't use them -- everything you need to enjoy the beach right in front or even go a bit to either side of the property. Ocean and waves are pretty mellow -- nothing too huge when we were there. Beach is nice and long for walks -- including to the great shaved ice place nearby across the highway. It became part of our afternoon ritual.
Plenty of grills if you're inclined to cook. Lots of people there do, but we never had to wait very long for grill space and the other guests bbqing were all super friendly.
Only "surprise" to the unit -- and my guess is for most Sugar Beach units -- is the size of the bathroom. It's pretty tiny with very limited counter space. But its all very nice and newly remodeled in this particular unit so we were ok with it.
Actually, there was one other surprise -- how clearly the owners had labeled everything and stored everything. It was a very pleasant surprise that made the stay in this condo that much easier.
If you're looking for a condo in N. Kihei, you can't miss with this one. We don't go to Maui that often, but will definitely consider returning to this great spot.

This was our first trip to Maui and it could not have been better. The condo was everything and more than we expected. The location was perfect for us. It allowed us to explore the island easily. We are beach people so having the beach chairs, ice chest, towels and boogie boards was awesome! We walked the beach each morning and it was wonderful. Not crowded at all. We will definitely be back and be staying here.

Over the past few months my wife and I have stayed at various hotels and condos around the islands. It can be stressful trying to decide where to stay or if the place is sketchy or if it’s clean etc. Jim and Toni’s place was perfect. Clean, super organized and definitely fully stocked. You can tell they put a lot of thinking into what guests needs and wants are and it shows. Felt like home from the moment we walked in and made our experience on Maui one we will not forget. Also I’m almost certain #308 has the best lani too. For communication Jim and Toni were amazing and replied to emails and messages timely I always felt like they were there to help. I’m definitely saving this for my favorites and will stay here again if we ever return to Maui. No complaints. Hands down the best.

My fiance and I just stayed at this property and it was perfect. They have all the toiletries provided so you do not have to bring much of your own. It is only a 15-20 min drive from the airport compared to other locations around the island. The whole process was great and we will be coming back next year!!!

I LOVED the appartement. The remodel was done with very good taste from the kitchen to the bedroom and it’s barn door. It is loaded with everything you need during your stay: snorkeling gears, beach towels and cooler we used when we went to Hana for the day.
The area is very quiet and the building with its amenities is a bit older looking. The swimming pool is very clean. We also used the beachfront for a nice swim. Overall we had a very good time because it is centrally located. I would recommend to have a car.

We were COMPLETELY thrilled by all the amazing qualities of Sugar Beach 308! It is by far the most clean, updated/decorated, equipped, organized, beautiful location/view that we have ever rented and we’ve used VRBO several times. Another huge plus is the owners. They are incredibly nice, gracious, quick-responding, helpful and friendly! If you’ve never rented through VRBO before then this must be noted as a very necessary quality. I always got quick email responses back and more detailed information than I had even asked for, what a delight! All I can conclude with is that if we ever return to Maui I will DEFINITELY be staying in Sugar Beach 308!!!

This place was absolutely amazing, and Jim and Toni are phenomenal! We stayed in Kihei for two weeks for a friend's wedding, and felt the most relaxed when we were back at the condo. This place is in a great location with a private beach and beautiful view, but also only about a 10 min drive to all the top restaurants in Kihei. Jim and Toni greeted us with a warm welcome note, starting our vacation off on the right foot. They were available if we needed anything, but to be honest, it was so well stocked, we never did! Every detail from the laundry soap to the spices and kitchen utensils were stocked to the brim with everything we needed. We bought laundry soap at Costco assuming we'd go through whatever they had set. Their stock lasted us the full two weeks! I was amazed at all the details they thought of and looked into. If we come back to Maui, we will absolutely stay at Jim and Toni's condo again. It was everything we imagined and more! If there was any criticism, I would say the bed is pretty firm, and we could have used a laundry basket, but most people don't stay in Maui for two weeks, and I guarantee we would have thought the same thing anywhere we stayed. All in all, this was a great place to stay run by great people! The view is exactly as it looks, and the condo is so well kept, it felt luxurious. Thank you Jim and Toni for a great stay and memories that'll last a lifetime.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED this condo. It had everything we needed plus more and was in a great location. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport and 15-25 minutes to either Wailea or Lahaina. The beach in front of the property was really calm and didn’t have any crowds! The owners were so helpful, kind, and more than willing to answer any questions we had. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed staying here!

This truly was a home away from home. The photos shown online are a true representation of the unit. The owners have thought of everything. Usually we end up having to purchase items and then leaving them behind. We made good use of the beach chairs, cooler and boogie boards provided. Sugar Beach Resort is about a ten minute drive from the main town of Kihei, but if you want quiet, and a resort on the beach this is the place to be. You need a car as there are no restaurants within walking distance. We treated #308 as if it was our own and if everyone does that the unit will stay in pristine shape and allows for many people to enjoy it as much as we did. We will be back for sure..

Condo #308 at Sugar Beach was more than you could ever hope for on a vacation away from home. The place was immaculately clean and stocked with anything that you could ever think of needing while living away from home for a week. Even if you had forgotten something chances are they had it there for you. Especially helpful was a guide book on Maui which I referred to as my bible. I used it everyday and found the book to be very accurate. All supplies for a day at the beach are also provided; cooler, umbrella, beach chairs, etc.
The grounds at the condo were maintained meticulously everyday. The pool and hot tub were cleaned and the lawns were raked. The location was great if you want to explore all of Maui. We were able to get from one side of the Island to another with ease. You definitely need a vehicle. Access to the beach is a bonus. Not too big of a shore line but you are still able to walk and even sit by the ocean all day long. About a 10 minute walk away is a Farmer’s Market, bakery, and ABC store. The sunset view from the balcony is stunning. A must see.
Overall this was a wonderful place to stay and I would return in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved our time at #308! We've been raving to our friends and family about how cute the condo was and the nice location. Here are a few highlights.
- Upon arrival, the condo was very clean and included day to day items like shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, sun screen, plenty of bath towels, etc. Everything that is listed in the description is there such as kitchen and entertainment itmes.
- The owners have 2 beach chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, boogie boards, flippers, and a cooler in the closet. This was so convenient and nice to be able to use.
- The condo is right on the beach! Loved this aspect!
- The beach is long (great for walks) and was not very crowded.
- The condo is within walking distance to a farmer's market, ABC store, a bakery, shaved ice store, and boutique. We woke up early multiple mornings and walked along the beach to the farmer's market and the shops. It took us about 10 minutes to get there.
- We actually did not try out the pool or hot tub, but the facilities looked really nice. The pool had a schedule time for water aerobics and swimming laps early in the morning.
- We ended up really enjoying Kihea! We ate at the Kihea Cafe (so good!!! Make sure to get the blended coffee drinks!) and Ohana (The crab cake appetizers were delicious) and relaxed at some of the beaches. We traveled to other towns in Maui and didn't feel like our drives from Kihea to the other places were too long.
- Everyone at Sugar Beach Resort was friendly and helpful.
- Jim and Toni were so sweet and hospitable! They left us a honeymoon package full of goodies!!!
It does get a bit windy during the afternoons, so just keep that in mind. Great place, wonderful time, and would love to come back and stay here again!

The unit was as advertised. Freshly renovated, extremely clean, and intuitively stocked with items that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Fresh delicious coffee and tea, intact & clean linens, top of the line washer/dryer and appliances all made staying here a pleasure. The view of the pool and Sugar Beach is very nice. The condo building itself and the property is very well maintained and although its 40 years old, its kept in immaculate condition. They really do sweep and rake the grass here every morning! Interaction with the owners and property staff at check in was seamless and very well done. I would recommend this property and specifically Condo #308 without hesitation and we look forward to returning here on our next trip to Maui. We experienced no disappointments with #308, it's attentive owners, or Sugar Beach Resort .

The place was absolutely fabulous - newly decorated and well stocked. It had boogie boards, beach chairs, a cool beach umbrella that screws into the sand, and a small cooler. Plus it had a ton of little things you wouldn't expect, such as binoculars, a guide to Maui book (we used this every day), dish soap, ice cream scoop, dish washer soap, laundry soap, shampoo and conditioner, comfortable furniture on the Lanai, ziplock sandwich bags, ziplock gallon bags, coffee pot, toaster, and the list goes on. The pool area was serviced and maintained daily - they literally have people sweeping the grass every morning. One cool thing we discovered is that the air conditioner won't turn on if the Lanai doors were open, so you never have to worry about wasting energy. The beach itself isn't as picture perfect as a few miles south, but it's good. We swam in it at least 2 or 3 days, but the condo is within 12 miles of some awesome beaches and snorkeling. I won't run through them but use the Guide to Maui map (they highlight the good snorkeling areas in blue) and then google "best places to snorkel in south Maui". Any sand beach in Wailea or Makena are going to be wonderful. There are lots of restaurants in downtown Kihei (Amigos and Nulas were two local ones we enjoyed), as well as a neat craft fair place just north of the Kihei post office. And the view from the Lanai is beautiful - exactly like the picture on their VRBO website. This wasn't just a good day for a photo, it looked like that every day.

We have stayed many times at Maui over the years and have settled at Sugar Beach Resort as the location for us to stay. The view overlooking the grounds, the pool, the beach and the horizon is almost breath-taking. Many a great sunset can be seen from the lanai. There is nothing to want for as the unit is very well equipped with just about anything you could possibly want to either enjoy the sand and surf as well as items for the either the novice or professional cook. Toni and Jim (the owners and hosts) have done an impeccable job in their renovation of the unit and will go out of their way to make your stay at Sugar Beach one to remember for years to come. We rented Sugar Beach #308 for 4 nights over Easter 2017. The renovations were great. Everything was updated from the appliances, floors, bathrooms, and the bed was more comfortable than any hotel. The chair on the balcony was so comfortable to sit in overlooking the pool and beach. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with everything we needed for our stay. As for the complex itself, we were impressed at how well kept the grounds were. The pool, deck, and chairs were cleaned every morning along with the community gas grills. We loved the close proximity to the beach to be able to walk every morning. We would love to come back and stay sometime in the near future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The unit was incredible: all new appliances and it was so well stocked it wasn't a question of did the unit have it, it was that I just hadn't found the right drawer/cupboard yet. This was a group vacation (multiple people, multiple units) and my friends voted mine "Best in Show". Thank you!!
The complex was great. My only complaint is that the pool rules should be changed to be in-line with most resorts: 9-10 pm Adults Only. Shutting the spa down at 9:30 pm is just not right.

We have stayed at several different condos at Sugar Beach and this condo was by far the best. It was recently renovated and we loved everything about it. The condo has everything you could ask for and more.
The view is fantastic and loved watching the sunset every evening. Some of the things that I appreciated in this condo were: the very comfortable oversized chair on the lanai. It was a perfect spot to read after a day in the sun. The keyless entry was a very nice perk. Never having to worry about the key was awesome. The kitchen had everything one would need but also left room to store your own groceries.
We love the beach at Sugar Beach. It is a perfect walking beach. You can go either way for close to 2 miles. Needless to say we enjoy coming to Sugar Beach as we have been there several times but staying in this condo was the icing on the cake.

This was our first time staying in Sugar Beach and we had a wonderful time. The condo was newly renovated and decorated beautifully. Fully stocked a beautifully appointed...you will want for nothing while staying in this condo. Located on the 3rd floor, the view was spectacular! This complex is small, so all amenities are centrally located and parking is just outside your door. Beautiful pool and jacuzzi sitting right next to the sand with a view of the ocean, can't get any better than that. Easy short drive to Kihei proper as well as Wailea's beautiful secluded beaches. Lahaina is only a short 25 minute drive along the shoreline. Do it in a convertible and you will enjoy every minute. Can't say enough about what a great time we had and we are already planning our return trip. Definitely felt like the comforts of home while on vacation!!!

The condo is beautifully redone and feels very cozy. The view from the lanai is amazing. I loved watching the sunset from it and occasionally seeing whales. The walk to the beach and the pool are both very convenient. They are both so close. The beach in front of the resort goes on for miles. It's nice to walk along it. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and Jim and Toni went out of their way to make our experience even better than we imagined. We can't wait to return to Sugar Beach and book with them again.

The condo was beautifully upgraded and included everything imaginable. The condo has a beach decor and looks out to the ocean from the balcony. We had three wonderful days in your beach home. We cooked in a well-equipped kitchen and the BBQs on site were really convenient. The small sandwich place was great the first night when we were tired and just wanted to stay put. Walks along the beach at sunset were so wonderful. This condo was perfect for my trip to Maui. I was there on vacation, and wanted a place relax in the evening and do some work. The place is beautiful with very comfortable furniture (especially the bed) and a nice kitchen. The lanai had several seating options for relaxing and watching the sunset. The building is right on the beach with a nice pool as well.
I wish that i had been on vacation, but this was a perfect place to relax after a long day of work and i would love to return to just enjoy. I would highly recommend this unit. Thanks for the stay.

My family had the chance to stay at #308. To say that this rental unit is beautiful does not cover it. Toni and Jim have thought of everything. The view is gorgeous, you can enjoy the sound of the ocean from inside the room as well as see it from the couch inside, not to mention from the lanai. They have done a wonderful job at remodeling everything and if you have questions or need anything they are available to help, so not only was the room fabulous, but so was their customer service. Condo #308 was and included everything you could wish for! My daughter (5) and I traveled alone. We stayed for 9 days in July/August. Toni/Jim were wonderful during the booking process (and during our stay): Quick responses, ample information, kind, patient and they extended a deal they had offered the week before I booked. The condo was beautifully remodeled, furniture and linens clean and in excellent shape. The condo layout worked well for me to read/watch TV while my daughter was sleeping. This was by far the best equipped vacation rental I have ever stayed in: I didn't have to pack shampoo, body lotion and soap (no shower gel). I also found female hygiene products, cotton swaps, tissues and lots of toilet paper. Bed was very comfortable, shower had good water pressure, A/C and fan (bedroom) worked very well and the place was spacious for my little one to spread her toys. We received 4 sets of towels (bath sheet, hand towel and wash cloth). Kitchen included spices, every utensil and tool you could ask for, Ziploc bags, tupperware, trash bags, paper towel, sponge, aluminum foil, even coffee + filters were provided. Upon arrival we found drinking water in the fridge. Beach towels, body boards, beach chairs (all new), cooler and umbrella were provided. We left our sand toys behind. The condo is ideally located on the 3rd floor, next to the staircase, only steps from parking lot (helps w/ grocery shopping) but also close to pool and beach - easy to walk for kids. Pool was cleaned every morning, grounds were impeccably maintained. We experienced no noise or nuisances by other guests. In the night, it was lovely to sit in the comfy armchairs on the lanai and listen to the waves. We had a short interruption by the property management (they checked for a leak in the condo under us). They communicated clearly and with the utmost respect. The next day, Toni/Jim sent us a splendid gift basket (absolutely not necessary). We rented a car to get around. I don't think Kihei would have worked for us without it. The city is perfectly located in between the cities wanted to visit - Paia, Wailea, Lahaina (a bit further) and a short drive from OGG. Insider tip: Get your poke fill at Foodlands Grocery Store. Incredible selection that you can taste before you buy. So good. My daughter loved Coconut's Fish Cafe and Ono Gelato. The Sugar Museum was underwhelming. Highly recommend this condo and Sugar Beach Resort! Would love to return one day...

My wife and I spent 15 days in the newly renovated #308 of the Sugar Beach Resort. Absolutely everything about this Condo and the complex is perfect. It wants for nothing and everything you can think of that would be needed during your stay is available. The King-size bed is very comfortable and will lull you off to sleep after a busy or lazy day of your vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with everything from A to Z. The view?? ........... from the comfortable lanai furniture you can overlook the pool from the 3rd floor as well as a westerly view of the ocean beach a few more feet away. Elevators to the 3rd floor are quick and silent with easy access from the parking lot or the pool area. The complex grounds are maintained on a daily basis to compliment the Condo's.
The on-line photos of #308 are extremely accurate but, experience the beauty of Maui in the best unit of the Sugar Beach Resort. You would be hard pressed to be disappointed with this Condo. Jim and Toni (the owners) were extremely accommodating and helpful with any questions we had. We would not hesitate to recommend the Sugar Beach Resort and Condo #308 to our friends, relatives or even strangers. This place is so, so nice.
We have already made arrangements to return to Sugar Beach and #308 later on this Fall. Until then....... Mahalo!!

We had a fantastic stay. The condo was very clean and well stocked with a wonderful view of pool and ocean. It was so nice to walk outside and be on the beach within minutes. It was also very nice to be in a relaxing resort. We never felt the need to rush down to the beach or pool early in the morning in order to reserve our space. There was always open areas which was a welcome change from the other "over populated" beach resorts that we have stayed at in the past. The Ocean View and Sunsets from the Lanai are incredible. We found this well-kept resort to offer many conveniences from on-site Beach Access with rinse showers to its central location on the Island.

We have visited Maui many times, however, this was our first stay in Kihei. This unit was great. The Ocean View from the Lanai is amazing. The unit also overlooks the beautiful pool and Koi pond. The resort grounds are well maintained and gives a peaceful and relaxing feel. We loved the convenience of the location. We started our days with long walks on the beach. In the evenings we made use of the resort BBQ's and as a result we met many friendly guests who have been return visitors for many years. We plan to book this unit on our next trip.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Sugar Beach Resort and your condo. This condo has an amazing view of the pool and ocean and is well worth the money we spent. It's very clean and had everything you can imagine for a very comfortable stay. The resort is very clean and beach is amazing. We loved the long walks each morning as we were so close to the water. Truly Maui life. This resort is central to everything, so made travels very easy to any and all excursions. The owners are great to deal with and we'll definitely be staying here again.
