The neighborhood:
Kihei's sunny South Shore makes beach days feel simple. Walk the shoreline by Waipuilani Park, pick up coffee or dinner along South Kihei Road, and spend a calm morning at the Kamaole Beach Parks. The area's warm water, long sandy stretches, and west-facing sunsets give families an easy daily rhythm: beach, pool, rinse off, then dinner nearby. It is a practical Maui base for travelers who want the sand close and plenty of choices without resort formality.

Transit

Getting around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.

Perfect for families and groups of friends to enjoy, this condo has all of the comforts needed for a memorable stay including an open layout, a well-equipped kitchen, and a private balcony that will be the perfect place to sip a glass of wine each evening. When days heat up, there will be no lack of fun to be had mere steps from home base with a shared pool, hot tub, beach access, shuffleboard courts, and a sand volleyball court on-site. Not to mention, the free WiFi and TV in the living room will make streaming movies or catching up with friends back home a breeze.

Kauhale Makai is right beside Waipu’ilani Park which includes Waipu’ilani Beach, tennis, shuffleboards and volleyball courts. Enjoy strolls in the mornings and watch the sunset in the evenings either by the beach or on your private balcony. In its Kihei location, you will be in the perfect spot to see those dreamy sunsets and feel like you have your own private oasis while still being near the best attractions on the island. When you want to grab a bite to eat, check out local shops, or stock up on groceries, hop onto South Kihei Road and you will find a plethora of local shops and restaurants to choose from. If you are feeling more adventurous, snorkeling, hiking amongst tropical foliage, ziplining, and so much more are readily available all over the island!

Guests at Kauhale Makai enjoy access to the oceanfront complex's shared pool and hot tub, plus an elevator and direct beach access. The grounds include outdoor seating and gardens, with a lit path to the entrance for easy evening access.

The location was fantastic. We fell in love with Kƒ´hei. The beach was just a two minute walk. View was great! Felt right at home. It was close to anything you would need for your vacation. Will definitely recommend and would stay here on a return trip!
