** Construction Notice***
Island Sands Condominium is starting the DCDA Water Vault project, which will cause some disruption to owners and guests. Tom's Backhoe will be starting construction work on Monday, October 19th, 2026 with the projected end date of December 11th, 2026.
We anticipate a water shutdown and night work on Hauoli Street fronting the Island Sands Condominium the week of October 26th, 2026.

Neighborhood

The neighborhood:
Maalaea is Maui's low-key harbor community, a peaceful contrast to the busier resort towns but still central for exploring the island. Walk the nearby beach, visit Maui Ocean Center, or book a harbor departure for snorkeling and seasonal whale watching. Maalaea Bay is a beautiful place to catch a sunset, and Kihei is four miles away for more restaurants, beaches, and errands. West Maui is within scenic driving range as well. It is a well-placed choice for travelers who want boat days and beach time without a crowded home base.

Getting around:
A rental car is recommended for exploring Ma'alaea and the rest of Maui. The harbor, beaches, dining, and attractions around the island are easiest to reach by car. Use the arrival details provided before your stay for exact access and parking information.

Best view and feels like home!

Living room has window AC unit which works okay with one bedroom that is connected to the living area. The bedroom was warm. It was good that the owner had three fans available to cool the room down in warm weather. *** The guest parking is very very narrow.

Beautiful view and location

We stayed at #302 for a week in April. The place was clean, and the view from the balcony was spectacular, looking over the pool and ocean. The balcony was sheltered from the sun, which meant we could sit out at any time of the day and not be too hot. The pool was attractive and located beside the ocean. There's no beach access, but we could walk along the waterfront in front of other properties all.the way to the town of Ma'alaena. We saw lots of turtles in the water at the neighboring properties, and a Hawaiian monk seal resting on one of the small beaches in front of a property near the town. Marine volunteers were watching it to make sure no one bothered it. This area of Maui was quiet and away from a lot of the vacation traffic. We would definitely return to this property.

The view is amazing and the condo was very comfortable and homey with an updated kitchen and nice A/C. It is conveniently located to town, Kihei and Lahaina. The harbor shops, restaurants and beach are a short walk from either end of the street. We saw turtles and whales splashing from the lanai and the trade winds are fantastic. It‚Äôs the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation!
