Neighborhood

The neighborhood:
From Mahina Surf, West Maui beach days do not have to look the same twice. Kahekili Beach Park is a good choice when the family wants sand and room to spread out. Black Rock Beach brings the energy of Ka'anapali and a well-known snorkeling stop. Kapalua Beach provides a smaller, scenic cove for a change of pace. The complex's pool and shared grills mean an afternoon can stay close to the condo, too. It is a handy location for travelers who want options without a long drive.

Transit

Getting around:
Kahului Airport is Maui's main airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring West Maui's beaches, dining, shops, and coastal sights. Plan on driving for most outings and allow extra time for traffic along the coast.

Inside, you will get into the island mindset in no time with the bamboo-accented furnishings, tropical-themed decor, and an open layout perfect for entertaining. And, the full kitchen has a coffee maker, stove, oven, and all of the utensils needed to whip up anything from a quick snack to a gourmet meal!

Guests are within four miles of Kahekili Beach Park, Black Rock Beach, and Kapalua Beach (among others!). End the day with delicious mahi mahi from the Fish Market Maui, less than a mile from the condo.

Access

Guests at Mahina Surf enjoy access to the oceanfront communal pool set along Maui's coastline, with garden grounds and a disabled parking spot for easy access. The beachfront location puts the water just outside your lanai, and grab rails support accessibility. A nearby laundromat adds convenience for longer stays at this 42 unit complex.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The unit was comfortable, spacious, and we felt we got great value for the nightly rate. We saw so many sea turtles each evening on the property - there were more than 20! We look forward to returning.

A cozy, clean, and perfectly located gem! We loved being steps away from the beach and the local turtle cove‚Äîseeing 9 turtles in one night was unforgettable. The condo is well-kept, the appliances are reliable, and it‚Äôs a fantastic place to relax after a long day of exploring Maui. We couldn't have asked for a better spot to unwind.

Our family of 5 spent a week in this unit. It was very clean upon arrival. The view from the lanai is INCREDIBLE. The whales were very active and we all had a great time pointing them out. Seating was ample on both the sectional and the dining table. We were even able to pull a 5th chair out on the lanai to eat dinner together overlooking the ocean. On 4 of the days, we had double-digit number of turtles come up on the beach next door. So cool! Only reasons for not giving the 5th star are that the beds are uncomfortably firm. My wife woke up sore most mornings. Also the drain in the main bathroom sink and the shower in the upstairs bath was really slow to drain. Needs some draino or something. Outstanding overall and we would definitely pick this one again in the future.
