Mauna Kai 8B

We really enjoyed our stay! The condo was clean, beautiful, and looked just like the photos and description in the listing. It suited our family of seven just fine with plenty of space. The beds were comfortable too! The host was friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with.
A couple of things could be improved. We would have appreciated having a map of the property before arriving, as it took us a little while to figure out where everything was. The unpaved areas of the parking lot also became quite muddy, which was a bit inconvenient. Unfortunately, the dishwasher did not work at all during our stay.
Overall, though, we had a great experience and enjoyed the condo. The location was lovely, close to Hanalei bay and other beautiful beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are traveling with a group and want to actually remain friends by the end of the trip, book Mauna Kai 8B immediately. The Lanai: Huge. Enormous. You could practically host a luau on it. The Bathroom Situation: Three of them! Two are en suite, which means no fighting over the shower or doing the awkward towel-clad dash down the hallway. The AC: Cold, crisp, and completely glorious. The Secret Weapon: The second floor is basically its own private island within an island. It’s the perfect little getaway when you need five minutes of pure silence. Gorgeous kitchen, comfy living room, and more than enough space to gather together or completely ignore each other. Absolute perfection!

Wonderful huge lanai, 3 private bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with 2 of them en suite, air conditioning worked well, nice kitchen and living room, second floor is like its own little getaway. Lots of space to get together and have privacy when wanted.

We had an excellent stay in December 2025 at this condo in Princeville! Check-in was simple and retrieving the key at lockbox was as expected. We had eight guests (four adults and four kids). There are three full bedrooms (I noticed on the virtual tour of the condo the third bedroom wasn't shown. It is the first door on the left upon entrance, and has two twin beds. and plenty of space for everyone to spread out and not feel like you are cramped or invading each other's space.The beds were good for all of us, as were the pillows. Overall it was comfortable once we got a good pattern of using the fans or A/C to moderate the temp in the rooms. The lanai was excellent to enjoy the breeze and just relax in between activities. We felt the condo was very clean upon arriving and there were plenty of towels for each bathroom.We checked out the pool one day, it was pretty chilly, but bearable once you were in the water. That being said, it was December and the high temps were in the upper 70's. There are items for using at the beach in the storage closet. Some items that were included were beach chairs, camping chairs, boogie boards, sand/beach toys, and some hiking poles (at the time there were two sets).The kitchen was fairly equipped with all the basics you would need to cook at the condo. There were plenty of dishes and utensils for the eight of us each meal.Parking is limited to one car, but we were always able to find a space. Great condo and location!

My family of 7 loved staying here. Our two smaller and younger teen daughters stayed in the loft on the small twin couch beds which worked alright, although they said it was a bit tight. Everything was clean and we loved staying here.

The home was spacious, clean and had a well stocked kitchen (plates, glasses, basic spices, etc). It was a distance from the parking lot back into the complex. It was quiet and serene. We took full advantage of the lanai and the tables and chairs out there. We had one of our members in a walking boot and using a cane. She was able to navigate the stairs up to the condo and get around inside just fine. Just a note, there are a few sunken rooms in the condo which we learned to navigate with caution. We enjoyed the location and were just 10 minutes from Hanalei. There was a Foodland, bank and restaurants within walking distance as well as the beach with a bit of a hike. The condo had beach towels, a few beach chairs, snorkeling gear and some other items in their beach closet. Brittany, manager of the unit and Ken, the manager of the complex were both very friendly and responded to our inquiries/needs promptly. Checkin and checkout were done simply and easily. It was a wonderful experience visiting Kauai and staying at this condo.

We had a fantastic stay! The property was peaceful, quiet, and had stunning views. The lanai was a highlight—we spent so much time out there just enjoying the scenery. The home was incredibly spacious, even more than we expected, and the location was perfect—just a minute from Foodland, making it easy to grab groceries and cook whenever we needed.A nice surprise was the beach towels and beach toys, which weren’t mentioned in the listing but were super helpful. The hosts were communicative and accommodating, making our stay even better. We would absolutely stay here again!

Everything was wonderful except for the parking. We had a full condo for 8 but we had to rent 2 cars to accommodate 8, and had no option to add another parking space.

We absolutely loved this place! It had plenty of space for our 6-person family, allowing everyone to have their own bed. The complex is peaceful, surrounded by lush trees and plants, which made for a relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of roosters in the morning was a charming touch. Although the unit doesn’t have an ocean view, a short 5-minute walk will take you to a spot where you can enjoy the ocean view. There's also a somewhat steep path leading down to the beach, though it's not suitable for swimming. One unexpected bonus was the collection of board games provided in the unit—our kids had so much fun with them!

We had such a great experience staying here. The apartment is large and very comfortable. The porch that wraps around the apartment is incredible and it has a lot of seating. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. There was air conditioning in each of the bedrooms. There were basic salt and pepper and other spices that were very useful. Plenty of dishes and cleaning supplies. Everything was very clean. Lots of games to play and books to read. A closet full of everything you could need at the beach, although the umbrellas were mostly broken. Still, there were masks and snorkels, lots of sand toys, 2 beach chairs and a camping chair, boogie boards and even flip flops. There were nice beach towels to use and plenty of regular towels as well. The area is stunning and the grounds are so so beautiful. We loved every minute of our stay here. Plus, the grounds manager was the nicest and most helpful guy. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay with our family.

This unit has a thoughtful layout, huge wrap around deck and AC. Grounds and pool were wonderful. Plenty of space for a larger family like ours. Very quiet and good location. Only one parking space available.

Loved our stay here. Condo was in a great location and very clean. Loved all the landscaping and beautiful Mountain View off the balcony. Great snorkeling and swimming beach in walking distance. We can’t wait to come back!

Our family of 6 was able to spread out and we were very comfortable! Great location to get the lush tropical feel of the island. Easy to drive anywhere to follow the sun.

We had a great stay in Princeville at Mauna Kai 8B. Everything was in working order. The Vacasa representative was very accomodating and answered all questions and made sure we were well taken care of. We would book here again. Kauai is beautiful. We were so sad to leave.

Vacasa manager Mahea was amazing! This property has very comfortable beds and the lay out of the condo allows for privacy in all rooms! Teenagers loved the pool. Great stay!

We loved every minute of our stay here. We had 6 people staying and it was super spacious. Large wrap around deck and, large bedrooms and so many areas to be entertained. All facilities were great and extras that were provided (e.g. Boardgames and beach gear) made our stay even better.

We stayed at this property with two families (7 people; 4 adults, 3 teens) and had a fabulous experience. There is more than enough room in terms of beds and space to spread out. We loved the wrap-around porch and ability to have coffee, eat meals and just relax outside. The kitchen had good amenities, although it’s not huge if two people are prepping a meal. Indoor seating in the dining room and living room is also good. The master suite on the first floor is a great size with a large bathroom. The queen bedroom upstairs is also good, as is the bedroom with two single beds. The loft has a bed for another area to sleep, which we took advantage of. There are wall AC units that are great to control the temperature room to room, and there are ceiling fans everywhere. The temperature was very comfortable. The beach closet with filled with chairs, a decent umbrella, pool/ocean floats and toys, snorkel gear (used our own) and other things. This was very handy. The unit also had more than enough beach and bathroom towels for a week. We made a lot of use of the in-unit washer and dryer, too. There were plenty of cleaning supplies (more than usual for a rental) with brooms, etc. The Princeville location was exceptional. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping, and it’s a quiet community. We loved the proximity to Hanalei and other North Shore sites. We also had easy access to travel to Kapa’a, the South Shore and Waimea Canyon. Overall, we’d highly recommend staying here!

Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed this spacious condo. The birds would play on the large covered balcony in the mornings as we ate our breakfast and the small lizards would play in the evenings. The condo had a great pool with a small covered pavilion that included a large gas grill, a ping pong table and a corn hole set. The location was 5 minutes away from Hanalei Bay and Anini Beach. They even had a beach closet that included beach chairs and other beach supplies. A couple of suggestions for those staying at this location. Do everything in your power to arrive during the day time. We arrived after dark and wondered around the property for 10-15 minutes trying to initially locate our unit. Maps and and Google maps will get you in the vicinity but are not exact. If you do arrive after dark, you may want to have a flashlight, as the concrete walking trails are not brightly lit. Also, the parking spaces are very narrow, so if you are driving a larger vehicle (SUV, Truck, etc), arriving during the day may help you find a parking space and park accordingly. All of that being said, we would love to stay here again, when we return to Kaua’i!

We had a wonderful stay at this condo for our time in Princeville. It was very spacious for 4 adults with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms plus an extra seating area upstairs. We also enjoyed our coffee on the covered wrap around porch. The location was also good as we could walk (10 min) or drive (2 min) to the grocery store and small plaza which also had restaurants. The grocery store had everything you need including hot take out meals, Poke, sushi, alcohol, beer, wine and even snorkel gear, water shoes and other beach gear. We were also within walking distance to a nice beach and from there you could walk to Anini Beach (steep hill but otherwise easy walk). Also a short drive to Anini Beach from the unit. Our favourite beach was Tunnels Beach though. Really great snorkelling and beautiful green mountain beside. We went there several times to snorkel and one evening we picked up takeout from Hanalei Bay then went back to Tunnels to watch the sunset. Stunning!

Lots of space, great for big families. Big lanai. Washer and dryer were a big plus. No privacy unless you close all the blinds. Tons of beach gear to use, that was great. Really enjoyed our stay but would prefer more privacy

Liked that it was close to the road into Hanalei. Neighbors and community folks were very helpful. Listing said hot tub. Only a pool. No parking pass provided despite instructions to use. Minimal kitchen supplies - Even had to buy salt and pepper. Sound carries - roosters and children nearby! Spacious unit with nice wraparound deck.

Master bed room was great, master bath has great storage, Lanai wraps all the way around the condo, property was quiet minus the roosters lol, great pool area, close to stores and shopping, 3 private rooms and a second living/ extra sleeping area upstairs. Parking was a challenge at night, but overall a very comfortable stay. Washer/dryer and A/c were a huge bonus, we left a couple boogie boards hoping other families can use them ❤️

It is a nice well equipped house…very close to everything on the north side. Wish they had some beach stuff in the house but overall we had a pleasant stay.

This 2nd floor 2-level condo was very comfortable, well furnished and had a lovely wrap-around covered deck/lanai surrounded by tropical plantings where we spent many early morning and evening hours. Kitchen is very well equipped. Beds are quite firm and could use gel toppers. Since it was awkward communicating with the realty management on a holiday weekend, we did not ask them to come replace nonworking lightbulbs, especially in the main bath closet area and staircase, but I imagine they would have been responsive. We loved Anini beach and Kilauea lighthouse areas. You must see Napali coast by boat and check out the restaurant scene in Kapaa and food trucks and shops in Hanalei. Skip Poipu but the botanical gardens on the south shore are amazing

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect! The garden areas are beautiful! The beach that is a short walk from the home was a bit steep of a climb and does not take you straight to Anini beach, you have to walk quite a bit along another (nice) beach to get there. That being said, it is a short drive and a nice beach with overhanging trees and lots of shade, picnic grounds, showers and restrooms. Another very close find was Queens Bath. Also a steep climb but really worth it. Some nice natural pools that overlook the ocean. The Farmers market (walking distance) was a lot of fun with music and hula dancers! Foodland is a great, friendly market as well. Pricing was a bit high, but if you give them your phone number, they will give you discounts. And you must try the ice cream store next door! Property managers were quick to respond to questions and very helpful through the whole process. We did have a problem accessing the pool though, they told us several times that a key was not necessary - but the pool was locked. We were able to get someone to let us in once but was unable to use it outside of that. The property itself was nice, very spacious for the 8 of us traveling. Well equipped with books and games. While it was overall clean, there were some things missed. Dirty dishes in the cupboard and the floors were a bit sandy on arrival. Didn't bother us but some may find it a problem. The grill however, was really dirty, needed a thorough cleaning - so bad, we opted not to use it despite having bought fish from the market specifically to grill. Couple of small challenges, but overall a great stay. We ate in the room mostly and it was well equipped to accommodate all of us. The deck is AMAZING. If you are sensitive to traffic noises though - you may want to bring ear plugs. You are right by a road, not heavily trafficked, but you can hear the road noise. Bottom line, if we find ourselves in Kauai again, we would stay again!

The condo is in a great spot. There is one beach just down the street, and a big hill but it’s totally worth it (snorkeling right off the beach). The complex is kept in good shape. All in all a great vacation.
