The location of this place is amazing. Right across the street is an alley to the beach with some great snorkeling and calm Waters. Very gorgeous!
The place itself is decent. Something I would expect to find in Costa Rica to be honest, but a lot more expensive than there.
The reason I say this, the place is somewhat rundown. The makeshift bedroom with sliding doors, the doors are broken and don’t really slide. There’s nothing wrong with staying there, just need to know what to expect. For the price you’re paying, it should be a little more high-end or more well put together without defects.
The privacy you have in the back house is great. There are frogs jumping around the yard and chickens with babies in the backyard that you have to yourself. I enjoyed staying at this place.
The power did go out the second night we were there, and we were stuck, not having electricity, lights, or any type of entertainment.

We loved the secluded beach and the tropical background and yard.

This is where my wife and I stayed while exploring the North shore portion of our trip to Kaua’i. I would say this shore is a little slower pace and less congested than the other areas we stayed. It’s kind a short drive to do anything except visit Anini beach which is a very short walk from this property.This is what I would almost call a guest house on this property, the main house is just a short 25 feet away, and is also available on VRBO. Awesome if you have multiple parties wanting to stay together, not so much if just the two of you are looking for privacy. The property is great, was very clean, and was probably my favorite place we stayed on the island. You get to see (and hear) chickens everywhere, but here we also saw pigs traveling through the back yard area, and had a few lizard visitors inside.

We are a family of four with young kiddos and this place worked great for our stay. We always had hot water in bath and showers, which was great. The house location near the beach is amazing and the beach is beautiful. The beds and pillows are comfy. We had access to washer and dryer. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking essentials. We also enjoyed watching the birds in the backyard and loved seeing the geckos around.

We had a wonderful time! The house was perfect and had everything we needed. The house even had a pack-n-plat which was perfect for our baby. We LOVED being so close to the beach! The beach toys, chairs, and goggles were an added bonus.

The location could not have been more perfect with Anini beach access just across the (not busy) road; it was like having our own private beach most days. I went swimming with the turtles and fishes every morning, spent the afternoon reading on the beach, and we could easily get to and from Hanalei, Princetown, and Kilauea for lunch or dinner when we decided to go out. The various amenities of the house - beach chairs & towels, shower gel/shampoo/conditioner, laundry facilities, Apple TV for casting our shows at night, and a kitchen stocked with the basics we needed for a 5-day stay (as well as our favorite granola greeting us on arrival) - made our stay incredibly comfortable and convenient. An unexpected surprise was the big beautiful backyard with its amazing trees and wildlife. Access on arrival was easy, the house was clean and cozy, and while we never quite figured out the downstairs shower (or were maybe just impatient trying to figure it out), one good hot shower upstairs was plenty for our needs. We could hear the neighbors when they were on their deck but it was nothing abnormal or obnoxious. We miss it already; we will absolutely stay here again.

We got in late & were very tired The ease of getting into the cottage was very smooth. It is a charming cottage, but needs a couple home improvement issues addressed like the sliding door of the upstairs bedroom, one of the doors seemed to be off the hinge & the carpet downstairs has kind of an odor. I always travel with a diffuser, so no big deal. All in all, we had a lovely stay. Close to the beach, great location, quiet & peaceful. Would stay again. Thank you!

Perfectly clean and comfortable. We stayed with our infant and toddler. The loud roosters were hard on our family in the mornings (starting at 3a), but that was a function of the location, not the property.

The location is amazing with beach access literally right across the street. My family had a great time on our beach adventure and this little house was the perfect place to rest and recharge and cook up some costco meals!

This is a secluded house with a beautiful backyard and great beach access.

So close to the beach. Very short walk to a great beach. The house was well equipped unless you needed spoons. The second bedroom is a pretty limited space, but it works. Nice layout for privacy and the grounds are great.

This house was in a great home and location walking distance from the beach. It had a full stocked kitchen (non-food items) and the laundry was a nice bonus. Make sure you're ok without ac though as it gets pretty hot.

This place was exactly what our group (four adults) wanted--quiet, fun, close to a beach.

Lovely Ohana and the separate quarters were perfect for privacy within a group. The layout of this home and privacy was really nice. Loved being across street from the ocean and the home was comfortable and well stocked. Would rent this place again for sure.

Excellent location. Fantastic to be near the beach and have a forest next to your back yard. Nice cottage. Excellent kitchen. Many thoughtful features.

We had a lovely stay with our adult daughter in the Anini Ohana Hale house. The public entry to Anini beach is across the street from the house and therefore it is an easy walk to beautiful Anini Beach. The layout of the house worked for us as my husband and I had one section of the house and our daughter had the other. Giving privacy for both. We enjoyed our week stay on the North side of Kauai.

We stayed at Anini Ohana Hale for 9 nights, and loved it! It was very homey and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was wonderful in quiet and peaceful Anini Beach. It was a short drive to Kilauea, Princeville and Hanalei, and a gorgeous 40 minute drive to Ke'e Beach at the end of the road. Although it is not the very best beach for snorkeling compared to Tunnels, Ke'e, and Poipu, it is decent (we *did* see some fish and turtles). It IS, however, the best swimming beach due to its very long (about 2 miles) protective reef. It is also an excellent place for SUP boarding and kayaking. The home is about a 1 minute walk across the street to the beach, which is one of the best things about staying at this home. The kitchen & laundry room were certainly handy to have. There is a large backyard facing jungle and a dining table and barbecue grill. The outdoor area for cleaning after the beach or a muddy hike that is mentioned in the description is actually just a garden hose, unlike all the other vacation homes where we have stayed on Kauai that have outdoor showers. The main house that is facing the street has a shower, however this is the guest cottage in the back and the shower is not shared. The air conditioning units in most of the rooms were very loud. We turned them off and opened all the window louvers and turned on all the ceiling fans. That provided enough cooling and air circulation, and it was nice to hear the birds instead of electric air conditioning units. I could tell, however, the AC would be necessary if it was very hot, however it was not so during our stay (end of September-early October). Beach towels, beach chairs and other beach equipment or available for use. All in all this vacation home is excellent and we would certainly stay here again.

We loved everything about this property, the location, the home, it was clean, cozy and nearly perfect. The portable AC units were a must, however, as well as all of the fans provided. We gave the home five stars, because after we figured out how to manage the heat and air flow, we loved every minute of our stay and would definitely stay again!

This place is amazing. House layout is cool and the amenities (kitchen, beach toys, wifi, tv, etc.) are all well thought out. Clearly the owner cares about the property. This rental is essentially a guest house located right behind one of the larger villa style houses. The backyard is really nice as well, and very private. Proximity to the beach (right across the street from a relatively private strip of Anini beach) is fantastic and cannot be understated. Presumably, you're thinking of renting this place for the beach and it will not disappoint - it is beautiful.. This area is especially good for younger kids (we brought along our 6, 4 and an 18 mo. old) because Anini beach has a large reef that prevents the surf from reaching the beach. Consequently, the water is both very calm (like a lake) and really shallow. The snorkeling is reasonable, lots of fish to see, but the coral isn't the prettiest. Not really many things to complain about with this rental. As some of the other reviews have mentioned, there is no AC. There are many fans provided though. Personally, I like feeling the humidity, I'm visiting to experience that climate in full. To summarize: This is an amazing place.

The house had everything you could possibly need, from a super well equipped kitchen, laundry essentials, books and puzzles to all the beach equipment (beach buggy, sand toys, snorkeling masks, beach chair etc) - everything was there. The house has a beautiful back yard with a seating corner and a BBQ, so we often ate outside. But the best for us was the location directly opposite of beautiful Anini beach, we walked over to the beach several times a day, it's perfect for kids and very quiet. There are many trees to sit under in the shade, the beach is perfect for snorkeling or just playing in the water. Most of the time it felt like our private beach. We miss it a lot already. All in all it was a wonderful and special holiday in Kauai - thank you for sharing this beautiful house, we'd come back any time!

Great location. More spacious than I expected. We had an issue with wifi on the first day but the hosts sorted out.

This place is just across the street and a few steps to beautiful Anini beach. There, the coral and rocks create a very shallow and calm area of 100-200 yards, so the waves break far out, and you can snorkel and find some nice fish as soon as you jump in! This stand-alone house is next to another property, but has lots of greenery and a great back yard. The interior is spacious, very clean, and has all amenities. We loved being able to have airflow without compromising safety, thanks to all the louvers. There are two bedrooms, two living rooms and two full bathrooms, laundry, and kitchen. More of a narrow porch than a lanai, but nice backyard with grill. This seems to be a realty agency that runs it, so there are a little less personal touches in the house than some properties. But, the house is clean, and nicely furnished and has great washer/dryer, dishwasher, tvs, etc. The town of Kilauea is very small and nice, and you are actually very close to Princeville/Hanalei, as well as Kapa'a, where you can find nice shopping, restaurants, grocery, and a nice long path to jog or bike along the ocean. We would not hesitate at all to recommend it. We were very pleased with the property and absolutely love this area of Kauai!

I was greeted with a vase of beautiful flowers and a note from my host welcoming me. I had booked last minute and wasn't able to access the 'reviews., which made me a little nervous. I'd stayed on Anini many times in the past but up the road and in a much larger place. I love Anini, the quit, the reef, snorkeling, and mostly the fishing. I was there to fish and came by myself. Conveniently, the beach access was at the end of the drive. The ONLY bummer was there were 'historic' rains on the North Shore that did extensive damage to the roads above Hanalei and the roads North were inaccessible. The home was very clean. The back yard canopy of trees was amazing, the lower canopy was no less amazing and the palm trees were beautiful. As with a lot of Hawaii, there were flowers blooming throughout the back yard. I just wished there was ground cover of some sort, like grass, instead of native soils. I love my tea in the morning with the sounds of multiple happy birds singing. I thought I was in an aviary, although, could have done without the roosters, but then, it wouldn't have been Kauai. The floorplan was just fine for me, a single person. It might have been a different story is it had been two couples since the second bedroom was just off the kitchen. We would have had to 'settle' on who got the main bedroom. I did love the master bathroom. Loved the walk in shower with open windows. Every night there was a breeze and the sounds of the ocean were GREAT for sleeping. The advance communication with Coldwell Banker Bali Hai Realty was great. Their packet had answered any question I might have had before I needed to ask. They left multiple phone contact info should a need arise. I did have question initially and the answered my voicemail promptly, both times. I would return to this unit and rent from Bali Hai Realty again in a heartbeat. I gave the home and the experience a 5 star rating. Mahalo M

Bali Hai did an excellent job, from their property description to their paper work (on-line) and personable attention when we had questions. On our last trip a couple of years ago, we found out what a bad rental property and management company can be like - almost no bathroom and kitchen supplies, nothing to light the BBQ with, DVD / TV that wasn't working correctly, the AC leaking down the inside wall, property wasn't ready for several hours past the check-in time plus a few more problems with the management company not really being responsive. Bali Hai did an excellent job and sets the bar for a great vacation management company.

We got up early the first morning of our arrival and walked to the beach (a 30 second walk from the house) to catch the sunrise. It was spectacular! The view and the water were amazing. The kids snorkeled that morning and swam with turtles. They thought they were dreaming. The location on this quiet north side beach was just perfect. Besides being essentially on the water, we had easy access to Princeville, Hanalei Bay and the Napali Coast trailhead hike with all that they have to offer. Then there is the house itself. It was luxurious, but with an old Hawaiian feel. The sealing and floor wood was stunning. The appliances and rooms were modern, but still kept that classic Hawaiian look. We also used the adjacent house, which made it so spacious and comfortable for everyone. I think all my kids now what to live in Kauai permanently. It would be impossible to be disappointed in a stay at this location. Highly recommend it--obviously!

The home itself is down a private driveway which is directly across the street from beach access. When we first arrived we were greeeted with a welcome basket and binder with all the info we needed. The home has everything that we could have expected. We were happy to have a dishwasher, full kitchen and laundry facilities inside the house. There is a place to rinse off our feet by the driveway. All the back windows face the rainforest and the front windows face a row of palm trees. Soft sheets and the "outdoor" shower experience made it feel so much more tropical. We'll be back as the location was so private on our own huge stretch of beach and we felt like we could be off the grid, yet we were just a few minutes from shopping and restaurants. The resort areas felt crowded compared to our place, we even decide to walk through the trails up to Princeville one day.

Right off the bat we were very impressed. We walked into the property to find a welcome basket of goodies. What an awesome touch. I have stayed at many different rentals and this is one that I could honestly call home. The Wifi there was also very strong. I work remotely often so this was a big help to me and allowed me to bounce between my remote office and my vacation seamlessly. The beds were very cozy, clean and soft which allowed for some great nights of much needed rest. Anini Beach had amazing snorkeling and reef, the house even had a snorkel for our use. It is also close to everything on North Shore, yet just a few minutes off the highway for privacy. It had way more than we needed for a couple…it could easily handle 6 people with the two living rooms and the two bedrooms….we used one living room as our TV room. The laundry facilities, kitchen and home were stocked with everything we needed. We are already planning on being back this fall with some friends. Thanks for letting us stay!
