Upon entering the condo you are greeted with an exceptionally clean, very well furnished and beautiful lanai. Being able to fall asleep every night to the sound of the waves and to wake up every morning to a spectacular sunrise are just two of the first things that come to mind about this property. Sitting on the lanai and watching the Hawaiian Sea Turtles took our breath away and truly made you feel like you are in paradise. A fully functional kitchen, beautiful layout, comfortable living room, spacious beadroom and great bathroom, this unit had everything and we will be coming back to stay.

Great central location. We enjoyed watching the young surfers who took advantage of a swell. We could hear chairs moving in condo above us. But it was on rare occasions and didn’t bother us. The beach next door is not the best for swimming as there are many rocks. There are lots of beaches nearby. Our favorites, though, were on the north shore. We really enjoyed our stay! Mahalo!

We love Kuhio Shores and found this unit just perfect. Incredible ocean and cove views from the patio, Sparkling clean theoughout with well stocked kitchen, towels, linens and beach items. The bed was very comfortable. Vacasa was responsive with a minor TV issue.

Our stay at this property was incredible. If you’re looking for a not as commercial/ resort vibe on Kauai, this is your place! We came for the last leg of our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The sunrise and sunsets are beautiful, had an amazing snorkeling spot, turtles coming up right outside of our porch, watching surfers every night on the lawn, and the best restaurants in walking distance or just a short drive away. Bed was very comfortable and we slept great, shower wasn’t amazing but it did the job.

Beautiful view, nice property, close to Beach House and shopping nearby. We would suggest leaving more basic cooking supplies and spices for guests. (i.e.: foil, plastic wrap and zip lock bags, oil, etc) Comes in handy and guests don't have to go out and purchase whole boxes or bottles) for minimal use. Unit was very clean and comfortable bed, nice to have fans in every room and A/C.

My husband and I loved this place! Clean, well appointed, and the ocean is right there! You can watch the turtles from your balcony! The only thing I recommend: Bring a roll of quarters. $2.50 to wash/$2.50 to dry. It wasn’t easy scrounging around for quarters!

This unit was absolutely spectacular. The owner ensured that so many amenities were provided. In fact, it was such a nice touch to have cookies, macadamia nuts, and coffee there for us on arrival. The unit has a wonderful ocean view. We saw turtles every day. We would definitely be back. The unit was exceptionally clean and the bed was perfect. Loved waking up or winding down at this condo. We were able to sit on the lanai eating dinner one night watching sea turtles. We also were able to walk to some shops and get some delicious ice cream! Location was great!
Only complaints: there were some areas of thick dust in the bathroom and the walls are very thin. We had a very noisy neighbor one night that really destroyed our sleep.

The view from the lanai, absolutely incredible! We got to sit out there and watch turtles swim around and crabs maneuver through the rocks. Very soothing!
The walls are thin which caused a bit of sleep disturbances. Had a night where someone decided to do their dishes at 3am and bang around.
Overall friendly staff, checkin was easy, very welcoming with goodies, and a nice comfy bed!!

We loved this spotlessly clean, recently updated condo overlooking the waterfront. Lots of amenities for a 1 bedroom unit. Fully furnished kitchen made it possible for us to cook meals in an area where there are few breakfast or lunch dining options. Would book this one again for sure!

A Magical Place!

There are a few places that combine cleanliness, modern facilities and decor, great energy, magnificent views and sounds of the ocean (literally within 30 feet of your balcony) and majestic mountains, with a good feeling community of people all around. This place has all of that.
With a lot of rentals, it takes some time to get it to a place that feels comfortable for me. I didn’t need to do that at all here.
Kauia is an extraordinary land, and this home allows you to bask in it. It’s convenient to everything and yet it is not in the middle of intense hustle and bustle.
The snorkeling beach just steps to the west of the property is so rich with sea life that you can just stand to your calves to see them. At that beach, a friendly seal came up on the shore, and napped in the sun for two hours with the beach goers.
If you’re looking for a beach that is bigger and easier to swim in, because the snorkeling beach has lots of rocks, I went to salt pond beach and was blown away. It’s worth a 20-ish minute drive and has lots of bathrooms and outside rinsing off stations.
All in all, I feel incredibly blessed and rejuvenated by my time in Kauia at this home.

This is a beautiful home in a crazy-beautiful location. I had a magical stay here. The water and mountain energies and views were extraordinary. The place was super-clean and updated and it’s so close to everything that I needed as well. It is also a few steps from a snorkeling beach with abundant sea life everywhere. And the people at the complex were friendly and respectful. I will definitely book again. As a matter of fact, I had family staying at a resort a few miles away who immediately booked and paid for a place in this building for next year when they saw this place. Amazing. Thank you!

We LOVED this rental. We left our screen door open and loved waking up to the sounds of the ocean and Hawaii. The space was comfortable, clean and had what we needed!
Location was AMAZING! There is a great restaurant next door and easy snorkel, surfing and body board rental as well. The beach next door was great for snorkeling and surfing. We saw sea turtles from our balcony everyday. We were a short 5 minute drive from a few more restaurants, beaches and shops that we enjoyed.

This is our 4th time staying in Kauai and by far, this is my favorite condo to stay in. The location is absolutely perfect! The view is amazing and being on the 2nd floor was great. Very comfortable unit, with everything you need, good bed, good water pressure, very quiet, no parking problems, just a wonderful stay. This place is exactly as portrayed in the listing and we will be repeat visitors in the future.

The property was well maintained, the kitchen was well equipped and the management was responsive to a couple of small requests. It's well located near shops, restaurants and beaches. We liked this unit because it faced east and the afternoon sun wasn't blinding; we had seen this detail in another review. Folks walk downstairs and enjoy beautiful sunsets on the lawn. One detail of note: there is no swimming pool; we prefer the ocean and there are two snorkeling spots adjacent to the property. We would stay there again.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Kuhio Shores #208 - Excellent location with amazing ocean view from both living room & lanai, from which we could see turtles every day. The condo itself is very nicely decorated and the communications with both Vacasa & property management were excellent. The welcome gifts on the kitchen table were also very thoughtful.
What we really liked about this condo is the fact it faces east so the Lanai doesn't get too hot in the afternoons which is the case with many other condos we've stayed in HI. So we enjoyed seeing the sun rise in the morning and for the evening, we just walked downstairs & watch the sun go down from the grassy area. Definitely one of our favorite places to stay in all of HI and look forward to our next stay!

This is a cute condo with a beautiful view of the ocean.This place was very clean and kitchen had everything we needed for our stay.They even provided beach chairs and towels.The sunsets are absolutely stunning from the beach that was right behind the condos.The location is perfect as it's in south shore and only 5-7mins away from our fav Poi'pu beach.We loved our stay here and would be coming back soon.

Simply amazing! From the new/modern updates, overall cleanliness and the breathtaking views right on the water, this place was absolutely perfect! We enjoyed waking up on the water each morning, enjoying our coffee and watching the sea turtles. We have stayed at Kuhio Shores before, but we really liked this condo better since the lanai was facing East and it wouldn't get hot in the afternoons so we spent hours sitting outside. Vacasa communications and extra touches were greatly appreciated. Will definitely go back soon!

When we arrived , we requested the a cleaning touch up on something that was overlooked, and they had someone over in less than an hour. The condo is well appointed. They aren’t kidding when they say “sea turtle view”! We saw sea turtles directly from our window during a late lunch and hopped in and snorkeled with them. We enjoyed the terrace for coffee and the sunrise each morning. Amazing location for the south shore beaches and activities. They are also super responsive to any questions and issues.

The Kuhio Shores building is super close to the ocean, and the views are stunning from all sides. This one-bedroom condo is clean, spacious and completely updated. We saw turtles from the balcony every day, and we also saw them on Baby Beach, just a short walk down the street. The location is perfect, with two beaches right here, excellent snorkeling on the other side of the building, beautiful sunrises, and many restaurants and shops minutes away. It’s private and the management is great. I would absolutely stay here again.

This condo was a perfect spot for our 4 day trip in Kaua’i. The whole island is only 3.5 hour drive from beginning to end and this was pretty much smack dab in the middle. We were able to go snorkeling with the turtles on the north shore one day and then hike Waimea Canyon the next. The condo was super clean and very well equipped. I woke up every morning to watch the sunrise, drink my coffee and read my book while listening to the ocean crashing on the rocks; DREAM LIFE! It’s also within walking distance to The Beach House, the beat Tuna entree on the island (maybe in the country!). My husband and I are already talking about when we come back, this will be the place we will stay! Amazing communication with the staff and easy to check in and navigate to. Love love love this place!

This condo was a perfect spot for our 4 day trip in Kaua’i. The whole island is only 3.5 hour drive from beginning to end and this was pretty much smack dab in the middle. The condo is absolutely gorgeous with an incredible view! You have local surfer right behind the building that you can watch during sunset. You get to wake up to an amazing sunrise.
There is one of the best restaurants also connected to the building with amazing service and excellent food.
The staff at GVR are very responsive and accommodating. I was depressed leaving Kauai and staying at a 5-Star resort in Maui (not joking). Wishing I stayed on the island longer and at this amazing location.
I cannot wait to return!! Will definitely stay here again! Couldn’t have started off our honeymoon any better.

Great space for my husband and I on our honeymoon! The view was amazing from the balcony, plus you could take chairs (and drinks/snacks) down to the front of the condo and watch the surfers in the evening! Great location with easy access to the quaint downtown area. We spent nearly every day hiking or snorkeling around the island and everything was an easy drive. Thanks!

Our stay in #208 was absolutely amazing! Great location and the ocean view was spectacular. Right outside our lanai we watched turtles swim around us every evening, that was one of the highlights of our trip. The space was very clean with great furnishings. The king sized bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and in fact the pillows were so comfortable too. Beaches and shops are close by. Communication via emails and texts were responded to promptly. We even upgraded our rental car and that was an easy process to do. Everything went smoothly and over all, we were very happy with our stay and already looking forward to coming back and booking again with Great Vacation Retreats.

It is spacious, clean, and well-furnished. The patio is comfortable, and in the evenings you can see turtles swimming from the patio. Well-equipped kitchen, and has boogie board, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, sand toys, snorkel gear for you to use.

The residence was spectacular! The pictures are extremely accurate on the ocean view and the interior of the apartment. The residence was very clean and quiet. The sound of the waves was calming with a great lanai to sit on with comfortable furniture. Parking was plentiful. Great Vacation Retreat was very informative and ensured that they answer all questions concerning the property and check-in. I could not have wished for a better experience. I told them I was coming in for my birthday and they were so nice to get me a birthday balloon and cupcakes. Thank you so much! I can`t wait to come back.

Everything worked perfectly here--easy check-in (could even be done in the dark, if you arrive late), well-designed condo with all the amenities you need, and all in good order. Perfect for two people or a family with small kids. We watched turtles in the morning from our balcony feeding on the rocks below us. Easy parking, convenient location to get anywhere on the island. Nice, clean, well maintained condo in a great location. Overlooks a bay with the ocean in the background. Saw numerous sea turtles, a monk seal and “locals” catching fish while we had coffee/cocktails on the deck.
Along with the normal amenities, the condo has 2 sets of snorkeling equipment, a boogie board, beach chairs, binoculars, etc.
For those planning to spend time on the beaches and snorkeling, I would advise exploring the beaches that are close to the condo before going further out (they are nice).
Overall, a great place! Oh, try to avoid parking under the trees at night because the green parrots love to decorate the cars with crap that’s really sticky. If your car does get caught in the droppings there’s a hose and brushes near the exit of the car lot you can use to remove them.
So clean and beautiful. Watched the sea turtles every morning.

The condo had everything we needed and could have asked for! Beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel sets, boogie board, collapsible cooler, beach umbrella, shampoo/conditioner, soap/lotion, sunscreen, bug spray, oil/salt/pepper, ice trays, laundry/dishwasher tablets and everything else to make you feel at home. Every detail was thought of! The AC was a nice touch but we preferred using the fans instead. Lovely view of the water from the lanai where you could watch the turtles swim. Beautiful sunsets just steps away from the condo! Snorkel and surf off the beach to the west of the condo building. Close to lots of great food, beaches and activities! We will definitely be back! Read the guest notebook in the condo for recommendations!! “The ultimate guidebook to Kauai” was also in the tv stand which was great to read through.

Kuhio Shores was by far our favorite stay in Poipu! The condo was nothing less that luxurious. When we arrived, the home was immaculately clean, not to mention more stylish and comfortable than could have expected. So cozy & relaxing. The Lanai was furnished thoughtfully and the lounge chairs were very comfortable. The couch was plush and the tv system was easy to use and allowed us to watch Netflix and movies in the evenings. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need and more & was spotless. The bathroom was nice, and we appreciated the beach towels and extra beach supplies left for our use. The bed in the master is a little on the firm side, so if you like firm, you’ll love this space. Truly a gem, and we will definitely be back. We would be there now if we could!

Crashing waves, cool breeze

We loved this unit. This was the second time staying in this complex and this was a superior unit. The decor was updated and unit had all the bells and whistles. We loved the sound of crashing waves and watching turtles play in the water from our balcony. Great unit!!!

The place was great! The view was incredible and much better than photos . We loved sitting outside every day. The included rental car was great and easy to get and parking was a breeze .
The included beach chairs and umbrellas and towels were awesome.
Kitchen had everything you would need to cook and we made several meals there.
The only downside was the Wi-Fi was unusable our entire time - could not load any webpages or check email. They were VERY responsive and came to check on it . Sounds like it’s more of an island issue .

Our overall experience was perfect! This was our first time visiting Kauai, and we couldn't have asked for a better location. We explored the whole island and we are so happy we chose to stay here. The views are spectacular, the condo was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the whole island. We had an amazing time, my husband said that this is the only place he would stay when we go back to Kauai. Thank you so much!

We had such a great time here. The building was well maintained and quiet and the condo was clean and comfortable, with a great view that we enjoyed every morning at breakfast. Everyone we interacted with at GVR was kind and helpful. The beach gear and nylon cooler was a nice surprise, as well as a few treats waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived.

It was our first time in Kauai and we could not have asked for a better location. The place was the perfect size for the two of us and had everything we needed, including beach gear, towels, and a cooler. It was close to nice beaches....Shipwreck was my favorite. It was also a close drive or walk to some great restaurants. The patio was my favorite spot.....hearing the waves crashing and watching all the sea turtles every afternoon. It ended up raining the last three days were were there but it was still nice to sip cocktails on the patio and hear and see the water!

We had a short but lovely 2 night stay at this condo! Being able to open the patio door and listen to the ocean was amazing, plus we saw some sea turtles from the balcony! Air conditioning for nighttime was clutch since we couldn’t leave windows/doors open. The bed was big and comfy and we slept really well here. Would love to come back next time we’re on the island.

Beautifully updated one bedroom condo right on the pacific! This condo was clean, well stocked, comfy, and offered a great view of a small cove on the south side of the island. We watched sea turtles and fish and listened to the waves crash everyday from our balcony. We snorkeled in the cove too and got to swim with the giant sea turtles 😍. The condo king sized bed was comfy and we had everything we needed for our stay. Bath and beach towels, beach chairs, even coolers if we wanted to pack snacks for a picnic. We left the windows open and ceiling fans going all week and never needed the AC. We loved the little extra touches like the papaya and plantains and lemon cookies on the counter when we arrived. The fridge had a bottle of POG juice, 4 bottles of Hawaiian beer, a fresh dish of poke to try and a beautiful fresh lei to welcome us to the island. The condo is located between two sight seeing opportunities (shipwreck beach and spouting horn). And it is less than half a mile from an outdoor plaza with great shopping and dining. We definitely loved our stay and recommend this rental to anyone!

Let me just start off by saying the pictures of the views and condo do not do it justice. The views are even more amazing in person. The sunrises are spectacular! We watched sea turtles play all day from the lanai. There is a lovely astroturf area which surrounds the condos which makes for a nice little walk while you are glimpsing into the ocean.
The unit is exceptional! It is updated with an open floor plan, great decorating and many extra beach/play amenity`s that other condos do not. Beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach tent, soft cooler and beach toys for the kids. Upon arrival we were given a box of cookies and a shark towel for our daughter. It was a kind welcome gesture :)
There are so many beaches within a few miles. One especially, is a short walk from the condo which is named Keiki Beach. There is a great fish market called Kola Fish Market which provide excellent selection and at great prices! Shopping center within walking distance as well.

We absolutely loved our stay with Great Vacation Retreats. The location was unbeatable, the unit was nicely furnished, clean and had stunning views, as depicted. We especially appreciated the extras that came with the rental - including beach chairs, cooler and towels. We woke up starving and thirsty at 5am on our first morning - I can`t begin to describe how happy we were when we found water and delicious coconut cookies in the refrigerator. Overall our stay perfect. We couldn`t have asked for anything more. Thank you!

We stayed at Kuhio Shores #208 for 4 nights and had an excellent stay, perfect for 2 of us. The photos represent the property well. The view from the lanai is beautiful and you can watch turtles surfing the waves below. Go around the building to view the beautiful sunsets. The booking process was easy and all communication (emails, texts, phone calls) with the property management company before and during our trip was helpful and efficient. The property location was great --- easy to get to/from the airport and good for a home base to tour the rest of the island. Loved being right on the water (listening to the waves lull you to sleep!), with a short walk away to Lawai Beach (beside the Beach House Restaurant) which had the best snorkeling of the beaches we visited ~ felt like we were in an aquarium! Appreciated the use of beach chairs, cooler and other beach gear in the unit as well as the laundry facilities in the building. The kitchen was well-equipped and the 'start up' supplies for kitchen, bathroom and laundry mean you don't have to bring your own for a short stay. The weather was in the 80's (F) and we did not have a problem with the unit being too hot --- it was comfortable with the windows open for the ocean breeze and we used the fans supplied only as needed. A must-see for scenery is a drive to Waimea Canyon and the lookouts at the end of the road. We also went on an afternoon boat cruise to see the Na Pali coast with Holo Holo Charters --- stunning! Highly recommend staying here to relax and soak in the Aloha spirit!
