Beautiful views of nature

We’ve visited this property several times now. We love it everytime the beautiful lush green trees in back give you that jungle vibe. The sounds of the coqui and other animals is actually sp calming to my spirit. Weve had many family dinners or played board games out on the lanai. Take a breathtaking drive up the road and find secret spots with palm trees and crashing ocean waves!

Lovely house/property in quiet neighborhood

Lovely oasis! The lanai is very nice, feeling like it's up in the trees. No a/c, and the area was pretty warm when we were there, but the fans and airflow helped a lot. The house had good airflow and fans, and is nicely appointed. We enjoyed cooking here as well, and dinners out on the lanai were great.

Fun stay at Kehena

We LOVED this place! I was a bit worried about no air conditioner but it was fine. We were there in August and it got a bit warm during the day but it cooled off nicely in the evenings and we slept great. We kept all the windows open and listened to the rain and the frogs all night. The neighborhood is really cool. We walked around and found coconuts and avocados that had fallen out of trees. It is truly like you are in the middle of the rain forest. Kehena beach is close. Plan ahead- it is clothing optional. We found that most of that crowd went to the beach in the morning so we would go in the evening for a more family friendly time. Try to make it to the market. ( I think Sundays.) There were 25-30 tents set up selling everything! Fruit, tee shirts, jewelery, banana bread etc. It was a lot of fun. Overall- wonderful place! We are ready to move there!

Absolutely magical, secluded corner on Big Island

OVERALL We loved our stay at this property, and can’t wait to return one day! It’s a hidden gem. PROs -The first thing we noticed when we walked in is how modern and clean it was. It was so clean that we walked barefoot in it all day and didn’t get any dirt on our feet . -The property is very well equipped, with a great fully equipped kitchen (including spices), beach towels, washer, dryer etc. which is very convenient. There were even some board games in the living room, which kept our evenings fun! -The hosts know how to receive guests. We were pleasantly surprised by a nice bottle of wine and a little book of tips and instructions about the locale when we arrived. Very much appreciated! -The location is tucked away in a very quiet, cute neighborhood. You wake up to the sound of birds and fall asleep to singing frogs. The house is surrounded by trees that give you complete privacy. -The Kehena beach nearby takes just a few minutes to walk to. It has soft black sand, and the atmosphere on the beach is just magical. (The surf is a little rough for little children, but we as adults were able to swim there every day.) -Though there was no reception on our cells in the area, the property had great Wi-Fi and fully functional TVs with a functional Netflix account, which was a big plus for the evenings. -If you’re worried about no AC, do not worry. The temperature in the area drops at night, so we slept very comfortably and even had to wrap ourselves in some cozy blankets. During the day it’s just at the sweet spot where it’s very warm, but you’re not sweating like a pig. Almost all door and window in the property has a net, so you can keep all the windows open. CONs -The only real con is that there isn’t much around in terms of restaurants & supermarkets. So make sure you shop well before arriving because there won’t be a convenience store you can quickly run out to for bread or extra drinks. -There will be some bugs. You’re in a rainforesty area. We just covered ourselves in bug spray after sunset and were mostly mosquito bite free. It’s mostly just little moths, mosquitos, and ants, and they mostly keep themselves to the lanai. So you don’t have to worry about anything big and scary. But if you’re scared of all bugs, this area may not be right for you.

Amazing time!

Wonderful, secluded get away

We started our stay on the Big Island here and it was a perfect way to unwind and disconnect. The home was lovely and had everything you need. Detached master suite was a nice touch and we spent most of our time on the Lanai. Word to the wise, mosquito repellent a must unless you’re one of those fortunate souls they find not tasty. A 5 minute walk from Kehena Black Sands Beach, warm rain showers most mornings and the Coqui frogs to serenade you at night this was a wonderful place to relax. Spent two weeks at this property and thoroughly enjoyed!
