Kailua-Kona is the sunny, walkable side of the Big Island, where Ali'i Drive follows the water past historic sites, restaurants, small beaches, and the harbor. Hale Halawai Park is nearby for a waterside picnic, and Kailua Bay is a natural place to catch the late-day light. Fishing charters depart from the harbor, while Kahalu'u Beach Park farther south is a well-known snorkeling stop. It is an especially good setting for travelers who want coffee, dinner, and a shoreline stroll within their Kona day.

Transit

Getting around:
Kona International Airport is about 10 to 15 minutes away, making arrival simple. A rental car is recommended so you can explore the Kona Coast at your own pace. Downtown Kailua-Kona's shops, restaurants, and oceanfront Ali'i Drive are often within walking distance or a short drive, with beaches, snorkeling spots, and grocery stores close by. Parking is generally available on site or nearby, whether street or lot.

You're also right in the heart of Kona, giving you unparalleled access to beaches, parks, fishing charters, and a plethora of local restaurants to sample. Fields close to the beach serve as lovely places to take the kids to frolic as you relax.

Inside, the open-concept living area provides plenty of room for comfortable lounging while keeping conversations going with the group chef as they prepare something in the full kitchen. The Keurig there will handle all your coffee needs and the shared gas grill is great if you'd rather sear your meals for a change of pace. Though it may be tempting to watch TV inside, the furnished lanai lets you feel the warm air while you stare into the sparkling ocean waters. As the sun goes down, take turns using the telescope to get an even better view of the picturesque landscape.

New fans to keep guests cool, a Bluetooth printer, and a private washer/dryer round out this vacation rental's conveniences.

Access

This Kona Ali'i home offers a private entrance and access to the resort's communal pool, with resort access and an elevator on site. The grounds provide outdoor seating near the bay, with a sea view and easy walking access to the water's edge.

Very clean condo and close to downtown and shopping. The building was very secure. It would’ve been nice to have 2 entry keys to get into the stairway/elevator. Also, with no AC it would’ve be nice to have a deadbolt on the screen door. GREAT VIEW!!!

Upon checkin, there was a bit of confusion because of multiple key boxes on the front door of the unit, none of which we needed or had access to. The kitchen is tiny and tight, but we made it work. It was a delight to find that there was a Brita water filter in the fridge so we didn't need to buy filtered water. We appreciated having the visual barrier with the second bed which isn't common in these units.We stay in various units at this property every time we visit Kona. The sound and view of the ocean is calming and delightful! The central location allows us to walk to almost everything we want -- swimming, restaurants, 3 ABC stores (because 1 is never enough). It was fairly easy to deal with Vacasa, the intermediary for the owners, but they go a bit overboard with automatic texts that can be frustrating.

The condo was very comfortable and very well stocked with everything we needed plus more! Our favorite room was the lanai which we used every morning to enjoy coffee and breakfast. We could look over the balcony and watch the Yellow Tang swim up to the shore. The condo is conveniently located within walking distance to shopping, great restaurants, and activities. We loved our time at Kona Ali‚Äôi

I stayed here with my aunt and it was perfect for both of us with 2 full bathrooms and 2 very comfortable beds. Location is perfect, could walk up and down the main street; Ali'i drive. So many great restaurants, bars and shops. The sound of the waves was so soothing at night, lulled me right to sleep. I would definitely stay here again.
