** Construction Notice***
Island Sands Condominium is starting the DCDA Water Vault project, which will cause some disruption to owners and guests. Tom's Backhoe will be starting construction work on Monday, October 19th, 2026 with the projected end date of December 11th, 2026.
We anticipate a water shutdown and night work on Hauoli Street fronting the Island Sands Condominium the week of October 26th, 2026.

Neighborhood

The neighborhood:
Maalaea is a small oceanfront harbor community with a front-row view of Maui's winter whale season and an easy central-island location. Walk the long beach, visit nearby Maui Ocean Center, or head to the harbor for a snorkel sail or seasonal whale-watch. The bay feels quieter than the major resort zones, yet Kihei's beaches, food, and shops are only a short drive away. The road north opens up West Maui for a scenic day out. It is ideal for travelers who want to wake up near the water and keep the island within reach.

Getting around:
A rental car is recommended for exploring Ma'alaea and the rest of Maui. The harbor, beaches, dining, and attractions around the island are easiest to reach by car. Use the arrival details provided before your stay for exact access and parking information.

This ground floor two bedroom two bathroom condo is just 25 yards to the water and enjoys a great vantage point for whale watching. The renovated condo features over 1000 square feet of upgraded granite counter tops, newly installed kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and is complimented with new furnishings. Smart closets in both bedrooms and a private pantry offer additional space for guests to take advantage of.

Access

Guests at Island Sands Resort enjoy access to a shared pool, BBQ grill area, beach access, landscaped grounds, and elevator service. Disabled parking and a lit path to the entrance provide added convenience. This oceanfront property offers easy access to the beach, while the unit features air conditioning and an in-unit washer and dryer.

Amazing place in central Maui!

The views from this ground floor unit are amazing and we loved having meals outside looking at the ocean and mountains! There were turtles almost every day on the beach nearby. It is around 15 minutes to Kihei or the airport, so it is quite convenient. The place was clean, well-equipped, and perfectly suited to 2 couples.

Such a wonderful set up with basically 2 masters on opposite sides of the condo. The view is perfect and location is close to everything!

The condo was well equipped and very clean. It was on the ground level which allowed direct access to a (tiny) beach with lots of turtle activity. Free whale watching right from our patio.
