Neighborhood

The neighborhood:
Sugar Beach anchors a quieter corner of North Kihei, where a long beach walk can happen before the day has any other plan. Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge is nearby for birdwatching and open wetland views, while Maalaea Harbor is a convenient choice for ocean activities and the Maui Ocean Center. South Kihei adds more food, shops, and beach energy at Kamaole Beach Park III. It is a well-placed spot for a two-person stay with room to roam.

Transit

Getting around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
