Duration: First week of August through the end of September.
Work began on August 3 with the 09 stack (Units 109, 209, 309, and 409) and will continue sequentially through the 19 stack (Units 119, 219, 319, and 419).
If the project progresses ahead of schedule, work may also begin on the Bayside stacks (Units 101–108), including:
01 stack: Units 101, 201, 301, and 401
Through 08 stack: Units 108, 208, 308, and 408
During construction, guests may experience:
• Construction noise during daytime working hours (8am - 4pm)
• Dust and debris associated with exterior concrete repairs.
While every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, construction schedules may change due to weather or project progress.

The place was easy to locate, appreciate the side note of not to park under the trees as the car will get covered in bird poo, the place was as the photos appear and is listed. We loved our view the best. My only suggestion would be since this stay does not have air conditioning that it has better working ceiling fans and a better working standing fan to help the air flow. Other than that our stay was amazing. Thank you

This unit was amazing with amazing views of the ocean! It was nice having a full dining area, living room, and kitchen separate from the bedroom. I will note there was not AC in the unit, and there was only one additional fan. If you are more sensitive to heat it could be hard as it stays pretty warm in September.

Our trip to Kauai was seamless. We had no issues with check in or out and the place was clean and cozy. We could hear the ocean at all times and were awoken to birdsong. Right near a local surfing beach, snorkeling within a 1 minute walk, saw sea turtles from the room. Would stay here again!

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores! It is really beautiful location, the amenities were perfect. Thank you for local goodies. The views of the ocean were great. Our apartment was the first towards the road side area, so at times late night you can hear some commotion. But nothing that bad. The space was clean. Location could not be better. We would return to this place again in future.

The unit was beautiful with on the water ocean view seeing turtles feeding upon the rocks. Unit was equiped with everything one would need. Lanai was Nice and breezy to stay cool. enjoyed use of the grassy grounds where you can watch surfers all day long, walk next door to one of Kauai's most sought after restaurants. The unit is a corner unit providing a private entrance area. An easy 2nd floor access to beach or parking. I would want to rent this unit again and again. Super cool location. We were really happy with our choice to stay here. The location is perfect: steps from excellent snorkeling, sunrise views over the water from the apartment, sunset views over the water from the property. The unit is comfortable and nicely furnished.

We have been to the island now 7 times and have stayed all over. This location was the best. The view was magnificent! Accommodations were great. We had no issues with the room, it was clean and well stocked. As many have stated there is no AC in this unit but fans are provided and there is a nice cross breeze when you open the doors. Suggestion - switch the bathroom light out with some LED bulbs to element the heat coming off the lights.

Condo was cute, well stocked with all the amenities you’d need. The only downside was that it is an end unit and there is a road just outside where loud cars occasionally pass. We had no trouble sleeping or anything. We just turned on the fans.

We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and a short walk to watch the sunsets. Local Beach House restaurant is delicious. Quick walk to go snorkeling on either side of the complex to swim with sea turtles and pretty fish. The unit was clean on arrival with a generous welcome package to greet us.

We loved the ocean views from the lanai and watching the sunsets from the grassy knoll. Watching the surfers and the parakeets coming home to roost in the evening was a special treat! It's an easy 5 minute walk to great snorkeling and food, and a quick 5 minute drive to the market for anything you need. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. This really is a gem of a place.

This was a great condo and well appointed. You MUST go to Beach House Restaurant (next to condo) but get reservations early (like before you come). This condo was a great launching pad for a lot of adventures on the island. And the view from the balacony is great.

This condo was well appointed. We did not need to go shopping for anything in terms of paper towels, tp, etc. Great location and next to the Beach House, a must-eat restaurant (along with Kioki’s Paradise). Had a great ten day stay. Would highly recommend and way cheaper than the resorts.

Amazing views from the lanai, highly recommend booking an in home massage there. 2 big fans are provided which we moved around depending where in the home we were. One little tip, if you need the circuit breaker, it’s behind the palm painting in the hallway.

The condo was exactly as listed - the bedding and linens were very nice. The location was perfect- steps from The Beach House Restaurant. Great views on the ocean and surfers! The owners were very communicative and sweet. I highly recommend this property. It is close to the street so you will hear traffic but the wind and waves drown out most of the noise. This neighborhood is very quiet at night. Just a relaxing and peaceful experience!

This is a great little condo, overlooking the ocean. It`s right next door to Beach House restaurant, which is great for catching a sunset with a drink. This unit is also next to the road, but you generally won`t notice it, due to the crashing waves. No AC, but it was so breezy that it wasn`t a problem. Great Vacations was super responsive with communication. Would totally come here again, especially for it`s proximity to Port Allen.

Beautiful condo with a lovely view and porch. It was well appointed and there were some nice touches like fresh eggs in the fridge for us, and coffee. There was a minor electrical issue but it wasn’t a big deal. The place doesn’t have a/c and the bedroom did get a little hot, but I think this is pretty normal for Kauai. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

The place was very much as we expected — or even hoped — it would be. The terrace looking out over the ocean was divine.
Note: the laundry is coin operated and requires LOTS of quarters!
The support from great vacations over text was timely and helpful.

Just wow! The pictures are beautiful but the property is amazing! What a location. We saw turtles swimming in the sea pretty much every morning and afternoon. The rental was in a prime location for all of our planned activities and provided a quiet place for us to wind down after a long day. Communication was quick from the employees of Great Vacation. Special thank you to Danielle and Gigi for the accommodations during our stay. We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

This place was worth the view alone but the inside was great too! Beautiful hardwood floors, good size fully stocked kitchen. And the sweetest personal touches were left for us! if we get to come back I`d love to stay here again! (1 note. The place itself is very cute and clean with a beautiful ocean view. We were a little worried in the beginning bc there wasn’t A/C but we never felt hot during our stay.
I recommend staying at this place.
Ps. Just keep in mind the neighbor upstairs likes it VEEERY quiet. We were listening to music from my phone while packing around 8pm and the next day he didn’t seem happy at all. Other than that, every one else around the resort are very friendly and helpful.

We had an excellent stay here! The view from the lanai is stunning, and a great way to start the morning. Proximity to Lawai Beach & Poipu Beach was perfect. The photos are well-representative of the space, and the host and rental reps were excellent communicators. The host was generous and gracious with accommodating an unexpected blip in our plans, and I would highly recommend this unit for a stay on south shore of Kauai!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! When we come to Hwaii, we like to explore on our own and that means location is key. This condo is a quick 5-10 minutes to Poipu, or you can just walk 250 feet in the opposite direction and go to lawai beach! The location is also within easy striking distance of Waimea Canyon which is a must if you go to Kauai.
At Lawai, we enjoyed the snorkeling very much and saw several turtles and even a huge stingray that had to be 5 feet across.
The room itself was well decorated and all the essentials covered. Upon entry, we discovered that there were already farm fresh eggs in our refrigerator from a local adolescent tending her own chickens. We thought this was very sweet and the eggs were delicious.
The location faced east so we got a sunrise but all we had to do to watch a beautiful sunset was take a short walk to the aforementioned lawai beach.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely reccomend. I should point out that our stay took place right after hawaii opened up to travelers who provided a negative covid test prior to flying. This may have affected our pricing for better or for worse.
Either way, come relax on Kauai and let your troubles melt away!

The unit is beautifully situated overlooking the ocean minutes from the shops and dining at the Kukui’ula center. Perfect location for SCUBA diving activities departing from the Kukui’ula small boat harbor, or a day of hiking up in Waimea Canyon. Peaceful ambiance, and was very relaxing to listen to the waves and watch the full moon setting between the palm trees from the oceanfront lanai. As a last minute booking, communication was quick and responsive and checkin was a breeze. Would defnitely return in a future south shore Kauai stay.

Had a fantastic time at this condo. It was more than enough space for the two of us and had some wonderful amenities, including anything you really need to set up your space. We utilized the beach towels and beach chairs that were available to the unit which was a bonus for us. There were also 2 boogie boards, a beach umbrella and two coolers that we didn’t get a chance to use due to the stormy weather during our stay. Given most of the days we were here it stormed with pouring rain, we were so glad to be in this condo as opposed to a hotel room. It was spacious, comfortable and we found ourselves enjoying the lanai most of the days and nights looking out at the ocean. We had no problem with check-in, but be aware phone service was spotty in the area before connecting to the WiFi. We made use of the car rental and upgraded for a slight additional fee to get a Jeep Wrangler. Parking was a breeze, which was much appreciated! Also it was centrally locates which was convenient! Very great place to stay!

I would recommend this condo to anyone looking to explore the island. We had quick replies from the host on any questions we had. The condo came equipped with a full kitchen (oven, toaster, microwave etc.), wonderful balcony views and full beach gear (two beach chairs, umbrella and coolers). The location also boasts short access to shops, restaurants, beaches and surfing. Not to mention the car rental that was key to exploring the island!

Their location was right in the middle of where we want to be in regards to driving either to Princeville or Waimea Valley. Highly recommend looking at a GVR property. Our condo at Kuhio Shores was a great location very close to the south shore`s great beaches and restaurants. The condo itself was very clean upon check-in, which was super easy. Nice touches with some local coffee and snacks included. Great communication from the property managers as soon as we booked all the way through the stay. The included rental car made the overall cost of our week in Kauai very affordable. You really can see turtles from the lanai! This is a great spot, and a great deal with the included rental car. We so appreciated the extra thoughtful touches to celebrate our anniversary. Check in to both the unit and the rental car were seamless and easy. The condo is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy Poipu. There is some traffic noise from the street during the day, but it dies down at night and is quite peaceful.

Kuhio Shores is a well-kept building just minutes away from Poipu.
The apartment is a corner unit at the second floor with the road on the left and the ocean on the right. We had no problem with the traffic noise (we could barely hear the cars passing by), and we always kept the windows open of the lanai for the beautiful sound of the waves.
The house is very well organized with many technological gadgets (a Sonos speaker to play your holiday music too!), fast internet, all possible household appliances, beach gear and beach towels.
If you plan to cook, the kitchen is well equipped and local coffee and condiments are also available with a really nice welcome package.
The apartment and the building are kept with care in an commendable way. A round of applause to the people who are taking care of this building!
We are going to have beautiful memories of this place, highly recommended!

This is a great space in Poipu. Very convenient to beaches, restaurants and shopping. Right next door is Lawai beach, really great for snorkeling. There is no AC, and the room could get a little bit warm at night, but nothing too unbearable. The unit is right by the road, so there is some road noise, but nothing that woke us up when using a fan and white noise.
Very convenient that shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided, along with a few days worth of coffee. There are also beach towels and chairs.
Overall we had a good stay here. With the rental car included in the rate, we thought it was a good value. Just watch where you park! The birds like to leave lots of gifts on your car.

Wow! what a view! We had such a great experience. The amenities were just as promised. We had a slight hiccup our first evening, the fridge wasn’t cooling and the internet was working but Angela was on top of it. She got the maintenance manager (didn’t catch his name, but he was A+) right over. The Main. Mgr. fixed the internet and informed me that they would still have a Spectrum technician out soon. We had no problems with the WiFi after that night. He also looked over the fridge and determined he couldn’t fix it himself so he offered us two coolers full of ice to hold us over for the night and he would have a new fridge in our room first thing in the morning regardless of anyone being in the room. We refused the coolers as we figured one night wouldn’t be much of a bother to us. When we returned midday the following day we had a new working fridge. Excellent text communications throughout the entire stay. The condo was cleaned top to bottom. The extra trash bags, soap, paper goods were very convenient. We loved the welcoming snacks, chilled wine bottle, and very useful canvas bag. We used the beach chairs, beach umbrellas and beach mats almost every day. Looking back I wish I would have packed lighter and washed a load of clothes
mid-trip now knowing we had the clothes washing detergent supplied in the closet. Drinking our coffee in the morning (coffee/coffee maker provided) from the balcony watching the sunrise, listening to the waves crash and birds chirping was glorious. Will I book again? Would I recommend? 1000x YES!!!!

Great location! We loved staying on the south side of the island. It felt more “Kauai” and less commercialized than the north shore/princeville. The place is the perfect size for a couple. The view from the patio is perfect for sunrise. You barely have to get out of bed to catch it! Having a rental car was amazing and boy did we use it! We used a app called “Shaka guide” that was free to download. From there, you can choose any of 4 tours at $7.99 each. We spent 6 hours driving from the condo to the Napali Cost and sprinkled in hikes and cool historical sites, thanks to the app! I would definitely recommend it since you get a rental car!! The condo also comes with everything you need for the beach. Chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, everything! The chairs even have built in cooler pouches so you can skip the big cooler and just throw the chair on your back like a backpack! We didn’t realize the unit had umbrellas until our checkout but we would have used them too.
One con was that the fridge didn’t work during our stay. This, of course, was a unique circumstance. We were bummed because we weren’t able to eat a lot of the groceries we bought ($$$) and had to keep everything else in the freezer which acted as a fridge. Lost the ice cream and popsicles which was hard for us. lol. We ended up spending a LOT more money eating out because of this. Just bummed that it wasn’t fixed during our stay. (Arrived Saturday night, called issue in Monday morning, left Friday night) and that there weren’t any other accommodations offered. A gift card to a local restaurant would have been very thoughtful since we had to throw away so much food.
All in all, it was a great stay and we had a blast exploring the island. It’s a beautiful place and the condo is in a great location. 5 min drive to markets and local vendors, but easily accessible to large stores if you need to go to them. (We bought cheap water shoes at Walmart for ATVing- it’s only 25 min away)

Some other comments mentioned the traffic, but the road is quiet at night. The ocean, on the other hand, is non-stop. We actually enjoyed the sound of the nature. Beware of parking under the trees. Your car might become the victim of the bird feces.

STAY HERE!!!!! Everything was perfect. The condo was amazing and we loved having a view of the ocean from our Lanai. Everything was clean and my wife loved the provided soap from the local Island Soap and Candle Works. The kitchen had everything we needed.
The provided rental car was awesome, and we were able to upgrade the car for a minimal cost.
The electronic door code was awesome as we did not have to worry about carrying a key around with us.
The communication with the ownership team was awesome, they emailed and texted us constantly to make sure everything was in order.
Though I must note 2 things, it gets a bit hot inside the apartment and you must keep all the windows open, and we had two fans running in the bedroom in addition to the ceiling fan (the fans were available in the apartment). Also, there is no standard table with chairs, just a high table with stools (no backs), so if you are planning on big meals or you have back problems you should be aware of this.

The condo was just as advertised in a great location with a beautiful view of the ocean! Very clean and had great amenities for the beach, although the beach chairs were in pretty rough shape. The company was quick to respond to my questions so communication was very easy. They set up a rental car for you and this whole process was very smooth as well. The condo is located about 1/4 mile from a big outdoor shopping area with great restaurants, but the kitchen in the condo is also well stocked with basic equipment and a few spices if you prefer to cook. There are two grills on a little patio area in the parking lot that had plenty of gas and all of the various grilling utensils so we used that quite a bit. The beach next to the condo building is small but had great snorkeling. There are great beaches in other parts of the island, however, so we would recommend packing up the towels, chairs, boogey board, and cooler that are provided in the condo and heading out for the day. All in all, we were happy with our stay and would recommend it to others!

We had a great experience with Great Vacation Retreats and absolutely loved the condo and the space it provided. We especially enjoyed our view of the ocean and small beach from our balcony. One of the biggest surprises for us was that the property was right on a point that offered one of the best views of sunsets on the island! The adjacent Beach House restaurant is booked up nightly so people can get an incredible sunset view, and we were able to get it ourselves for free each night right on the Kuhio Shores property. Huge bonus! The location is extremely convenient with easy walking to shops and restaurants. The condo itself doesn`t have air conditioning, so it can get a little warm. But we just kept all the windows open and the fans on and we got a nice ocean breeze. The whole space was exactly what we needed. By far one of the best deals was the fact that this rental comes with a car rental! I thought the nightly rental price just for the condo was reasonable, and then it came with a free car! Great Vacation Retreats took care of all the booking information and even accommodated our upgrade and trip extension requests for the car. Overall, great experience.
