Keauhou sits south of the bustle of Kailua-Kona, with a calmer resort-area feel and easy access to the coast. Keauhou Bay is nearby for ocean outings, while Kahalu'u Beach Park is a favorite place to snorkel when conditions are right. Keauhou Shopping Center adds groceries, dining, and practical errands close to home. Drive north for Ali'i Drive and Kona's waterfront, then come back to a quieter evening. It works especially well for couples and families who want the Big Island's sunny coast without staying in downtown.

Transit

Getting around:
Kona International Airport is about 25 to 30 minutes away. A rental car is recommended for exploring the Kona Coast at your own pace. Keauhou Bay, Kahalu'u Beach Park, shopping, and dining are a short drive away, while downtown Kailua-Kona is farther north along the coast. Parking is generally available on site.

Nice Digs for Four

I loved the open floor plan with two sliding glass doors which brought the outside in and the inside out. Which also made for excellent breezes throughout the day and nighttime, too. The gecko on the palm tree was energetic for a gecko, to say least. She added an interesting moment every day. I used the washer/dryer with joy and the kitchen had such a variety of equipment and accessories as to make even Julia Child smile. The bed was comfortable and clean. All in all it was great for our foursome of 16 year old senior citizens. I would do it again. Thank you Keauhou Punalele. See you next time.

Had everything available what we needed and more. Snorkeling set and boards are available for some activities in the water. Also does it has a washing machine and dryer also not always given a dishwasher is also available. AC is not available, but was not necessary when we're there (November), we had always a good temperature in the bedroom for sleeping.
