Cabin location is remote, at the public road’s end, but at the entrance to the spectacular Wai’pio valley about 100 yards to the West, which has public access by only four wheel drive vehicles. The cabin’s deck wraps around a north view of the Pacific Ocean.

Amazing view and location for easy access to Waipio beach and valley

We've stayed at this home a few times over the past few years. We love the location and the views from deck over the ocean. The area is quiet at night, other than the frogs. It's fun to walk down to the Waipio overlook and down the road to the store. The food across the road is also great. The bedrooms are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked.

This house has an epic view, all the amenities, and we didn’t realize it’s just a few houses away from one of the most beautiful overlooks on the island. We had a great time and would definitely come back to stay here!

My family stayed at this property for a few days, and it was a nice experience overall. The peaceful atmosphere and the sounds of birds made it relaxing. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, I would recommend staying for a couple of days to experience it.

Location, location, location! We were just a two minute walk to the most amazing overview of the valley where King Kamehameha was taken as a child for his protection! Loved the view from the living room - just breathtaking! We will come back for certain!

The property was just as advertised, with all the amenities, beach towels, lovely shampoo and conditioner, all the kitchen supplies one would need, an amazing deck and the VIEW! Great proximity to the lovely Waipio Valley, charming town of Honokaa, and the conveniences of the town of Waimea. Nestled up on the bluff we were really able to unwind listening to the breeze and the birds.

The house was very clean, everything was perfect. The description matched reality exactly. We would definitely book this beautiful house again.

What I would like to point out to others is that Waipi'o Valley is currently closed to visitors. We respect the wishes of the locals and understand their reasoning, but this should also be clearly explained in the building description.

The personal touches and inviting vibe!

This is a lovely home with wonderful artwork and personal collections that I suspect are works by the owners. It was in a great neighborhood and so close to the Lookout. It felt like home but with a better view! The gardener, Shannon, was a great source of information and so knowledgable about the area. Our family would love to visit here again. Thanks for providing boogie boards and beach supplies!

This home had everything we needed & a beautiful quiet location. It’s a bit of a drive for sight seeing, but well worth the extra drive. The gift basket of goodies was a nice touch you didn’t get from your average rental. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking to get away from the crowds.

This property although close in proximity to the neighbors is in a quiet country setting. Close to the town of Honokaa where you will find what you need. Yet distant enough to be in a rural setting with a great ocean overlook. The location to the valley overview is spectacular. The owners have the basic amenities and took care of us as if we were family. We had an excellent stay.

All wonderful except for entering the home which wasnot clearly outlined in your communications: *0423 DID NOTOPEN ANY DOORS - finally we were allowed to enter with additional information about keys! after 45 minutes and an equal amount of mosquito bites. Sad Welcome ........

We stayed for a week on Big Island and wanted to see the sights on the North and South sides of the island. This home was off the path enough to give a sense of being secluded was yet accessible for travel into Hilo and Kona. The only suggestions would be to have outside lighting for illuminate the path. The walk to the home was uneven and the bottom step on the side deck was loose. It would be difficult for someone needing handicap accessibility.

We live locally and like to get away from town. This was a wonderful home, close to the valley and Kononkaa town. We will return when I kids are in town!

We will stay here again, the valley tour was magical and Honoka’a town was amazing. I can’t wait to bring my family here to share this experience.

We loved staying at this home. It's very comfortable and the views can't be beat. We love the neighborhood, walking to the Waipi'o Valley Overlook, down the road to the wonderful Waipi'o Valley Artworks. The food at Good Eats across the street was delicious. Be sure to stop by.

Breakfast on the patio with a view of the ocean is a perfect start to the day. The house is comfortable with everything we needed for cooking meals and going to the beach. Fun walking down to the Wapio Valley overlook every day and store down the hill is excellent. We also ate at the place across the road and it was really good.

I don’t usually write reviews since I don’t like being an accidental marketer, but I totally enjoyed the glass house and want to give a shout out. The house is nicely furnished and stocked with helpful and convenient everyday products. The view of the Pacific is magnificent. I’m an older traveler and I spent a lot of time just sitting on the linai watching the astonishing play of light, water and wind. When the sun shone on a distant squall, the rain became sheets of rainbows, a phenomenon I hadn’t seen before. The kitchen is convenient, the beds are comfortable and there is a small garden in front of the house that was fun to explore. I stayed for a month and was always comfortable and happy. I’d rent again.

Location, views, privacy

The house was very nice overlooking a valley into the ocean. Right next to Waipio valley which you can take a tour with a van tour. We visited volcanoes national park snd saw the active volcano. We drove thru lava fields. Enjoyed several beaches. Took a whale tour and saw humpback and pilot whales along with bottlenose dolphins. The location is quiet and comfortable.

Comfortable and clean, with marvelous views of the ocean. There is a horse property just past the back of the Glass House. We loved watching the three horses munching grass, and trotting up and down every day.

This house has a wonderful lanai where you can sit and watch the ocean while you eat your meals. You are a short drive into a historic village and a longer drive into Waimeao and Hilo for dinners out.

This guest house offers a beautiful view, complete with ocean background, some forest and field, horses and geckos! We really enjoyed being able to relax and unwind on the deck after a day of activities!

The views from this house and the proximity to Waipio Valley (and Holoka'a) are exceptional. The beds are comfortable, kitchen functional and tidy, everything was clean and well appointed. Internet worked great, we did yoga and ate breakfast on the contactless check in and check out worked flawlessly and when I needed the support of the management company they were quick to respond, friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the nearby fruitstands between the house and Holoka'a. One note to other visitors, though it looks like there is expansive yard space from the pictures, that is an illusion, the space behind the house belongs to a neighboring property and is fenced off. The tiny yard space that belongs to Glass House is the territory of some intense spiders and webs and mosquitos that make it pretty uninviting. The geckos and clean upkeep seem to have kept them out of the house, thank fully. With Waipio Valley closed to visitors, we were really at a loss to find a hike or a walk nearby, it seemed like we were surrounded by private property. This is also a long way from beaches, I would not consider this a great launch point for a beach vacation. It was, however, a good spot to see a different side of Hawaii than what is offered at the resorts. From here we went to Waimea several times (Merriman's Restaurant is worth more than one visit if you have time and $ and you are a foodie!), to the gorgeous botanical gardens, to Akaka Falls. All in all we had a lovely stay and this served as a spotless, comfortable home base for the non-beach focused portion of our trip.
