Mauna Kai is set in Princeville on Kauai’s North Shore, where green fairways, mountain views, and deep tropical color are part of the everyday scene. Princeville Center is close for coffee, groceries, and a casual meal. Hanalei Bay is a short drive for its broad sandy beach, surf, and the historic pier, while Anini Beach offers a gentler shoreline for a slower day. This is a peaceful, green base for families and friends who want to explore the North Shore at their own pace.

Transit

Getting around:
Lihue Airport is about 40 minutes away via a scenic drive along Kauai's coast. A rental car is highly recommended since the North Shore's beaches, restaurants, and Hanalei's shops are spread out. Princeville itself offers walkable access to some shops and dining, while beaches like Hanalei Bay are a short drive. Parking is typically available in lots or driveways at most properties.

This recently renovated condo features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a modern great room with an up-to-date and well-equipped kitchen. There is a charming dining area plus additional seating at the kitchen bar. The main bedroom features a king-size bed while the other two bedrooms offer newly upgraded queen-size beds. Additionally, there is a queen sofa bed in the living room. The two bathrooms are updated and modern, featuring full bath and shower combos.

With beautiful tropical landscaping, you know you are in paradise as soon as you walk from your parking area to the condo. When flowers are in bloom, the air is filled with their tropical aromas. Mauna Kai also features one of the largest swimming pools of any condominium project on the island. And while out for a swim, don’t forget to bring what you need for a perfect lunch or dinner to barbecue at the poolside venue.

And location? You are a few steps from the path to the reef-protected Anini Beach, known for its calm waters, perfect for snorkeling and family fun. Nearby is the Westin Hotel. Don’t feel like cooking or want an evening drink or morning latte? The short walk to the Westin may be just the thing. Groceries are also within walking distance. This stunning condo is in the resort community of Princeville with its miles and miles of walking paths, multiple beaches, golf courses, shopping, and restaurants.

Access

Guests may use Mauna Kai's shared communal pool. The grounds include outdoor seating, and the complex offers a private entrance and a lit path to the door. This unit has an in-unit washer and dryer, a full kitchen, and outdoor seating. This unit does not have air conditioning. Cooling comes from ceiling fans and portable fans. Beach access is nearby.

Communication with the host was very easy and any questions I had got answered promptly. I didn’t realize the property didn’t have a hot tub, just a pool. The kids were happy with the pool and the water was warm enough for them. We actually spent so much time at the nearby beaches that we didn’t spend as much time in the pool area as we thought we would so it all worked out. The A/C units and fans throughout the condo made it easy to keep the rooms at a comfortable temperature (we were there at the end of May). The kitchen is well stocked with nice pots and pans and we were able to do a lot of our own cooking to save money from eating out. The food town market is minutes away which made it easy to pick up anything we needed. Lots of walking trails around the area. We had a wonderful stay in the Princeville area and we would stay here again.

Great property. Only issue was we had a problem this morning with electrical on 1st floor. I think it was a breaker issue. Suggestion would be to put something in the booklet advising how to fix.

We enjoyed this condo immensely. Very good location close to all the best beach's and restaurants. We were able to visit the whole island from this location without any issues. Beds super comfortable. The vibe was beachy and furnishings were solid and comfortable. This place is kept immaculate and has bonus beach chairs, umbrella and beach blanket/towels for use. Rooms were easily cooled via air conditioning and fans. Full kitchen met all our needs and a quick walk over to the pool for use of the full size weber BBQ. We were 3 couples and everyone was impressed with this place. The washer dryer were also full size and user friendly. Don't bring too much clothes like us! Ice maker was working overtime but never ran out! (we did buy a bag or two that week as well.) Has everything you need to prepare meals. Fantastic time and amazing value! People were really nice and it was quiet. I felt like we might have been the loudest people there. Had so much fun and felt so rested by the end of the week. Thank you so much for helping make our holiday a great one!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unit. It was well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed as far as pots, pans, serving ware and utensils. The refrigerator had an ice maker (bonus)! The bedrooms were very well appointed with comfortable beds, clean linens and clean bathrooms with plenty of towels. There were beach chairs for our beach outings. The kitchen area opened up to the family room and breakfast nook so that when we were at home we were together eating and playing games or just chatting in the open family room. That's what we love doing when not exploring the north shore, so thank you for sharing your townhome with our family.
