Neighborhood

The neighborhood:
Koloa's Poipu side is Kauai at its sunniest, with beach choices for both a mellow swim and a dramatic coastal walk. Poipu Beach Park has calm coves popular with families and snorkelers, while Shipwreck Beach delivers a more rugged shoreline and cliff views. Poipu Shopping Village and Koloa's food trucks sit within roughly three miles, and Old Koloa Town offers a look at the area's plantation-era history. You can watch for monk seals on the sand, play a round nearby, or keep the day simple with a beach towel and a late lunch. It is an easy south shore setting for groups who want warm weather, beach access, and dining close by.

Transit

Getting around:
Lihue Airport is about 30 to 40 minutes away, a pretty drive across Kauai's south shore. A rental car is recommended to reach Poipu's beaches, Koloa town's shops, and nearby dining with ease. Old Koloa Town is walkable for boutiques and restaurants, while beautiful beaches are just a short drive away. Parking is generally available on site or in small lots around town.
