Islander on the Beach 353

This was a perfect place to stay. Right on the ocean so could see and hear the waves all the time. Fantastic sunrises. The unit was very clean and fully stocked. I would absolutely stay here again

Great studio unit on oceanfront!

Right at ocean on third floor

Very comfortable, views, pool, beach bar and close proximity to an amazing restaurant Lava Lava. Walkable to many stores for food and shopping. Right on the walking path.

Very nice place

Very nice place

Wonderful unit, amazing views, and excellent location. Would stay here again.

Loved the views, location and cleanliness. Highly recommend!

The location both of this complex on Island, and this unit in the complex is ideal. I wish the windows were updated as the condensation in them distract from the view.

Very happy with the accommodation's. Everything as advertised. Great place, great views and great location!

Everything was great, everything as advertised. This place had great views and location. Will be back and rebook if available.

The view from the lanai was beautiful. We had to put up with smokers in the condo next to us even though there are lots of signs and a contract that you sign that says no smoking on grounds.

You can't beat this location! Open the lanai and there is the beach. The unit has everything you need for great time.

You can't get a better location to enjoy the beautiful beach. It was wonderful to sit on the lanai and feel like we were right on the beach. The pool and hot tub were great and the location is close to everything.

Amazing location right on the beach. Pictures don’t do it justice. Would definitely book again if reasonable rate, available and cleanliness standards are high.

Great ocean front view and resort location.

The location and view are top notch.

This is our second stay at Islander on the Beach and our first stay at this specific unit. We already told ourselves we’ll be planning to return to this unit on our next trip. Clean, comfortable, perfect location.

The view was epic, and the room comfortable, well placed on the island. Everything was good !

Unit #353, privately owned, is in a great location for visiting Kauai. The unit is perfectly situated on the third floor with a direct/full facing ocean-view of the gorgeous Pacific Ocean and a beach merely steps away!!! We were pleasantly surprised with the host-provided welcome basket containing some island goodies... We appreciated that, along with essential cleaning supplies, a full container of Clorox sanitizing wipes was also provided for our use!! The seamless check-in process and keypad entry system was great so that we did not need to keep track of a physical key or keycard during our stay... In addition, beach accessories, such as 2 beach chairs, some snorkel/fin gear, especially a soft day cooler, were an added bonus!!! This unit is ideally suited for an intimate getaway for 2... Aloha

Beach is right there! Perfect access for sunrises!

Studio Room #353 was perfect with kitchenette and balcony! We enjoyed the ocean front view with spectacular sunrises and moonrises! The grounds were lush and beautiful! The central location on the island was great for sightseeing and adventures! It was next door and within walking distance to Coconut Marketplace with restaurants, shops, and Island Country Market/ABC Store! We highly recommend this unit!

The apartment's prime location by the ocean and proximity to restaurants and stores are its standout features. However, cleanliness was an issue as I observed numerous hairs on the floor. The Vacasa team's prompt response and willingness to rectify the situation showcased their commitment to customer satisfaction. They truly excel in their service.

Top floor oceanfront unit highly recommended if you like watching whales! Everything you need within walking distance. Definitely the sunny side of the island, if the forecast says its going to rain all day, it never does.

For our age, retired, we just wanted quiet, relaxing time. This was just what we needed. This was our fourth year in a row in Kauai. We'll be back next year.

Everything was perfect! The room, the grounds, the sunrises. Would recommend to anyone!

We loved the views, the location, amenities, and the room.

Always a pleasant place. Very central on the island to go where ever you might want to go

Great location to overlooking the ocean. Property is close to shopping and restaurants. The beach on the property is very small but almost no one goes there. Would definitely stay again!

Comfort and nature's beauty perfectly intertwined.

We absolutely loved our stay in 353, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were great, the lanai and view is amazing, and it had every thing that we needed to make our vacation a dream vacation.

Loved this studio condo right on the beach! It’s small but clean and nice. Right by the bike trail and lots of shopping etc you can get to.

Amazing view from room, steps away from beach, great restaurants, convenient market for any items you might need! Loved that comfortable beach chairs were included!

First -We loved it was on the beach with nothing obstructing the view (other than a few trees)! Such a beautiful view!! It’s not a luxury condo with fancy frills, but it met all we wanted for our stay. Somewhat outdated (older cabinets, shower pressure was so-so, and the smoke alarm was disabled) but it was clean and quiet and that was what was the most important to us. The gardens are BEAUTIFUL. We were very happy with the price for all we got. The bed is nice and very comfortable! Air conditioner worked great, which was a must for my husband. There’s beach chairs and an umbrella provided, as well as a soft sided cooler. You have to walk 3 flights of stairs as there’s no elevator, but we didn’t mind that. Shopping and grocery store nearby was such a nice convenience!! . We loved eating at the next door restaurant, Lava Lava, our favorite restaurant we tried in Kauai!! Cocktails at the pool tiki hut was also a huge plus (strong and tasty!). I would DEFINITELY recommend this place if you’re on a budget and want a great location overlooking the ocean!!! This was a great resort with access to shops and restaurants in walking distance. Pool, jacuzzi, and a poolside bar, what more could we ask for? This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

The location was great! Everything we wanted and needed was easily accessible. Our balcony faced the beach and had an amazing view! I will definitely recommend and hopefully visit again soon. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

You definitely will not be disappointed with this condo. The view of the ocean and the sunrise is absolutely gorgeous. Super easy to get here from the airport and there is a shopping center right next to it. It’s located on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators, so keep that in mind. Dealing with Hula Now and staying at the Islander on the Beach is one of our favorites parts of coming back to the paradise of Kauai. Would HIGHLY recommend! This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

We loved being right on the beach; lovely welcome by the host with hawaiian music, air con on and local goodies. Very comfortable bed and a great location on the island. Parking was really easy too. Highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful location and the price was right! Yes, upgrades are nice, but then the cost goes up, right? Our unit had everything we needed for the week, and the view!! That’s the money shot.. we will be back. Mahalo

This was an amazing location! Right on the beach and equidistant from both sides of the island. Comfortable and nicely appointed condo. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

This place delivered what it promised by providing a stone's throw access to a beautiful beach in eastern Kuaui. My wife and I stayed here four nights as part of our 10-year anniversary and we were not disappointed. We ended up having slow mornings to make breakfast in the kitchen and sit out on the balcony and just enjoy the sound and sights of the waves. This is walking distance to several restaurants varying in price and cuisine. It is also within walking distance of a market and a great bakery. The place is comfortable and perfect for a two-person stay. Would definitely stay here again if possible when we return to Kuaui.

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent a week here in May 2022. This unit is all about the view from the deck and the sound of the surf. It's close to all you need so you don't have to do a lot of driving around the island if you want to stay put for a very relaxing vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kapaa Sands is located on a beautiful beach on the North shore, so it benefits from the constant breeze of the trade winds. Our unit had a balcony with a beautiful view. The complex is located within walking distance of a grocery store and restaurants. If you plan on swimming it is a bit challenging getting in and out of the water so make sure you bring water shoes.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Unit 7 at Kapaa Sands. The place is well stocked and the extra items left of the deck (beach chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels, etc.) were greatly appreciated.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was perhaps the most perfect stay in a VRBO that we have had..The location was ideal..We ate every dinner in our almost 2 week stay sitting on the terrace overlooking the ocean right below us and wondered how we got so fortunate to have stayed here. The weather did provide some of the beauty as we had ideal weather with just a touch of rain which added to the romantic atmosphere. The ceiling fan provided all the cooling we needed auded just so slightly by a small tablo turbo fan we picked up locally. The customer service by HuluNow was tops as we had to cancel this vacation with them due to cobid and they were so accomodating when we rebooked the same unit almost a year partner (who became my fiancee during this trip) and I will always remember our stay at Kapaa Sands and will return very soon....thanks to all..

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I loved our stay in Unit 7 at Kapaa Sands. The unit is upstairs and we had a fabulous view of the ocean. We were able to hear the sounds of the ocean at night, which made our sleep so enjoyable. The unit is very simple, but the location was magnificent. Hula Now was very responsive to our needs, and provided us with timely information about our stay. Highly recommend Hula Now and Kapaa Sands resort. You can't go wrong with any unit here, as long as it is ocean front!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit has a perfect view of the ocean as soon as you walk in. It’s a budget friendly spot with just as great a view as a five star hotel, without the crowds. You have access to a small beach and you can listen to the waves from the unit with your windows open. There is a full kitchen with all the amenities/appliances you’d need to cook in. The bathroom is small but provides everything you need. There is a pool, a shared grill and a laundromat on the property. The location is great! Both a coffee shop (an Aloha Roastery) a fabulous bakery with great malasadas (Passion bakery) and even a shopping center (Coconut Marketplace) within walking distance. They host a farmers market some days in that shopping center as well. But you are on the southern end of Kapaa which is located pretty halfway between North & South Shores. You can make a day trip to either end and make it back home for dinner. You aren’t far from Big Save Mart or Safeway if you need groceries. And there are tons of restaurants within a few minutes as well. This unit has a great lanai where you can sip coffee as the sun comes up, a queen sized bed and a small dining table. There is no AC but there’s a overhead fan, an extra plug in fan and with the windows open it has a great cross breeze. I would happily live here if I could. :) but 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. We were looking for our own space with a pretty view and this was a perfect paradise!

Fantastic waterfront location within walking distance to many restaurants. Enjoyed the sound of the waves and the fantastic breezes. Great little condo with comfortable furnishings and an amazing lanai.

Relaxing Great ocean front view convenient to store shops and bar This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Wow, if you want oceanfront this is a great property. We loved the grounds and the condo. It is a bit dated, but clean and almost everything you need to have a great place to base out of and enjoy. The bed is comfortable, and we loved the table and chairs on the lanai. We wish there had been an extra kitchen towel and some kind of paper towels or napkins provided…we had to buy our own. But, really appreciate the coffee filters. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish we could stay longer!

Beautiful and comfortable This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

Truly enjoyed our stay but the accommodations are a bit rustic.

This condo (#7) at Kapaa Sands is small but perfect for a home base as you explore the island. Even though some of the furnishings were on the older side it was very clean and very well equipped for all our needs. The ocean front view is what makes this place. We had every breakfast and dinner on the balcony. Even without A/C the ceiling fan and the constant trade winds kept it very comfortable inside. Convenient location means you can walk to restaurants or shops which is a plus.

The condo is nice, good size for 2 people, view is incredible, beach access is easy, location is great for accessing everything to do on the island, parking is easy, would stay there again!

We stayed for 10 days, what an incredible location. The moon lit the ocean at night and we could see the Lihue airport lights and planes taking off at night. Very quiet location as far as car or traffic noise, getting to and from here was a breeze, everyday we drove somewhere on the island we had not been, over 850 miles of driving on the Island ! Condo was perfect size for us, the shower was clean and tiles very clean, kitchen had all the little things you need, strainers, wine bottle opener, spatulas etc...pots and non stick pans. We made breakfast everyday here, then went out for adventures. No rushing to do anything early and finding breakfast somewhere. The ocean is 20 steps away across the very manicured grounds ! My wife was stopping to smell every flower along the way in or out...Shower-head is not one of those 5 feet off the floor, plenty of height to stand under the great water flow pressure. Closet is huge. Lots of room to hang all our clothes. The views are to die for, I could just stay here all day and listen to the waves crashing. Walk across the street to dine at: Street Burgers (OMG incredible food), Korean BBQ (ate there 5 times!! Yes it's THAT GOOD), Brick oven pizza (was good, great service), Kintaro Japanese Restaurant (one of the best on the island!!!), Passion bakery cafe (oh so incredible and fluffy), Monicos Taqueria (awesome Mexican food) ....and more ALL just across the street !! Just get to learn the traffic flow and you can get to Poipu in just 25 minutes, Costco 15 minutes, Kapaa 3 minutes, Opaeka'a Falls is 3 minutes from here, all Island destinations are just minutes away....Great rates for this place, and we loved being able to stay here compared to the $500 night places. there is no A/C here, just the cool ocean breeze flowing through the open windows, We were always gone until 7 or 9pm, and the room was cool from the breeze. Sleeping here was incredible, bed is comfy but the ocean sounds are the best. Stay here you will not regret it....

I spent 16 nights in this beautiful location and the sounds and direct views of the ocean made it all worth it. There were a few things in the unit itself that could have made for a more enjoyable stay. Being an oceanfront condo there was a lot of foot traffic below and the fact that the drapes would not close had its obvious implications. It seems the drapery track was of the older type and was defective and would not slide. Another small inconvenience was the handheld shower head which did not cradle correctly, so when I turned the water on it either wet up the bathroom floor or aimed at the shower wall so taking a shower was a bit tricky. In the main area, the right side window retractable shade didn't work, so when I pulled it down for privacy and tugged it to roll it back up it kept letting itself out and never retracted. Basically, I had to climb on the chair and manually manipulate the roller in order to raise the shade, so it had to be down all the time or up once I got it back up. Upon arrival it's always nice to be greeted with complimentary coffee or tea. The complimentary service was not available here and after a long flight it would be especially relaxing to sit for a moment on the lanai and enjoy the view before you had to go out and pick up these items. The bed was comfortable though, and the full moon a couple of nights over the glistening ocean was magical. Overall, the rental is in a great location but indoor privacy was my biggest concern. I would rent this condo again on future visits to Kapaa.

We spent four nights in here last week and as the other reviews attest, the views cannot be beat. We loved being lulled to sleep by the very close ocean waves and felt very at home in this nicely decorated and well appointed condo. The location is convenient to trips north to see Hanalei (don't miss it- one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen) and west to see Waimea Canyon (spectacular!). While the town of Kapaa is not as quaint as others, the location and convenience for quick trips cannot be beat.

The listing was very accurate and described the unit perfectly as did the photos. The owner had informed us that new carpeting was being installed right before we arrived and it was brand new, clean, and very soft. The unit was in very good condition. We booked on line and it was very easy. Before we booked, we sent a query and the owner responded immediately, even giving us ideas on things to do. The views from the lanai are fantastic and we enjoyed breakfast on the lanai and sitting outside at night listening to the waves. Close to many shops, restaurants, and things to do. We would definitely recommend and if we are able to return, we would like to stay here again.

We were blown away by the views from this place, not only the lanai but the living area, too. While sitting on the lanai watching the sun rise was great we did drag ourselves off to see the island. Lots to do and all a reasonable drive. We took advantage of the kitchen (worth the price) and ate most breakfasts on the lanai and packed snacks or lunch for day trips. We did eat dinner at several really nice places, however. Used the nice pool and also sat in the tidal pool in front of the place which was a real experience. Before we arrived, we spoke with the owner who was very helpful and had great suggestions. Love the bakery across the street! We hope to come back again and we have no problem in recommending this place to family and friends and coworkers. Everything was great about the place, inside, amenities, location, etc.

The condo was just purchased and new owners are sprucing up the place. I booked because the unit is oceanfront with great views up and down the east coast of kauai and was pleasantly surprised to see great changes from original photos. New refrigerator installed. Full kitchen . Windows on three sides and ceiling fan keep the trade winds blowing through. Very very quiet with just waves to hear. Great bakery 1 minute walk away. Really a hidden gem.
