A great little getaway spot in a great location in a nice resort facility. Thoughtful hosts have added nice touches and the overall feel of the unit is comfortable and functional. The view from the deck is awesome.

339 has nice view grounds/pool and ocean. Room clean, bed comfy (not too firm and not soft). They provided shortbread cookies, trail mix and coffee. Room has pretty much anything needed including 2 beach chairs and 3 fans, which are not necessary since AC worked well. I did use small white fan on table top at night for circulation only. Unit included 4 beach towels & 4 each bath, hand and wash cloths as well as lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Kitchenette towels, dish soap and sponge. There was only 1 electric plug area available behind tv for my ROKU, if you need other device power, bring power strip. Electrical outlet for bedside is only 1 plug behind bed/mattress but mattress is an easy slide, but bring longer phone charging cable to avoid inconvenience and maybe a plug that you can charge more than one device at a time, if necessary. I was traveling alone so it was no problem.

Nice location with swimming pool and hot tub. Beach bar opens at 3pm for happy hour. We watched the sunrise from our balcony or on our walk every morning. Lots of people used the grills by the pool. Nearby restaurants were good, just a short walk to a few. Saw whales, and a monk seal beached near us one morning. Going to miss the sound of the waves waking up!

This was my second stay at the Islander. The location of this room was perfect, in my opinion. I loved having a great view of the pool/bar area and the ocean. The room was clean and comfy and I had no issues during my stay.

We loved this property and would definitely stay there again! The location is great. You can watch the sunrise from your balcony or walk 2 minutes and literally have your toes in the sand. We had a couple of issues to start with that were quickly resolved by the management company.

This was a nice top-floor room with a great view of the pool area and ocean backdrop! The room was very clean and well stocked. Easy access via a lock box for check-in and great communication from the property manager.
The property itself is in a great location in Kapaa within walking distance to a coffee shop, a few restaurants and some shops in Coconut Marketplace. The restaurant next door called Hukilau Lanai is very, very good. The property is well maintained with a nice pool and poolside bar with friendly bartenders.
My only criticism is the bathroom could be slightly updated as it’s an original style tub and shower combo with a low shower head with not much water pressure; however, for the price it’s hard to beat. Very satisfied all around! Kauai is truly a bucket list island to visit!

Kapaa is located in the center of the island; we put less than 500 miles on the rental car in twelve days and drove all over the island. Islander on the Beach is a very well maintained three story condo complex of about fifty units. Although Unit 339 was small (about 400 SqFt), it was fine for a week of vacation touring. Unit 339 was very clean and comfortable, excluding no stove and dishwasher; just "forced us" to go out more for dinner. The Coconut Grove Market Place next door was very well positioned for use to the complex. Morning "sunrises" were spectacular from the balcony and the "roosters" crowing at 6:00am was something to remember! Very enjoyable vacation!!!

Clean, gorgeous views and landscaping. Fun bar. Nice sized room & bathroom. AC, no bugs, WIFI. Only minor issues...very small kitchen area & frig. Not enough electrical outlets to plug in electronics. Had to disconnect and reconnect various appliances. Overall...5 star & we would do it again.

Note that you have to walk up to the third floor, but that helps work off the Jojo’s Shave Ice that you must try.

This room was what we had expected as we have stayed at the Islander twice before. However this was our first Vacasa booking and the perks like chocolates, cookies and macadamia nuts were great, soaps were provided too and it was so great to have the option to receive clean towels three times a week by just leaving the old ones in a provided bag outside the door. Nice to have beach chairs and a beach umbrella included. King bed very comfortable. Reponse to email was quite quick when we had some TV questions.

You can find nicer resorts on Kauai, but this rental is great `bang for the buck,` especially when exploring the island all day. The property is mid-way between the north and south coasts, making it convenient to all locations. Plenty of restaurants and shops within either walking or short driving distance. A nearby Safeway sells fresh fish which you can cook yourself on one of the resort`s pool-side natural gas grills. Be sure to have a `white-noise` app on your phone to help drown out rooster crowing early each morning. I highly recommend purchasing the Shaka Guide Kaui app ($30 for four distinct island self-guided tours). It`s well worth the cost for great guidance and information around Kauai. The property comes with 2 beach chairs, beach umbrella, cooler, and snorkel equipment so that you can trek to any of the many beaches on the island. Having a lanai with table and chairs along with an ocean view was really nice. The room`s small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster came in handy. All-in-all, it`s a great place at a great price for a Kauai vacation.

The room was just like the pictures showed.The room was nice and had a lot of useful things in the kitchen. The silverware and cooking utensils were located in two drawers under the sink area, I don’t know that I would have found them if someone haven’t told me.The bed was very comfortable, The view from the lanai was beautiful. The barbecues around the pool worked wonderfully, you just had to know that the gas valves were in the bushes where you couldn’t see them.The coconut market had lots of wonderful restaurants in the shops and was just a short walk from the condo. We enjoyed the Thai restaurant most of all. Looking forward to going down next year and hoping to get that same unit.

This property was a great choice. It was clean, had great views and a few extras. We didn’t use them but it had chairs for the beach, an umbrella and boogie boards. We did use the beach towels! Loved that it was walking distance to the ABC store and food. Nice central location for activities. Thank you for a great time! On a side note I’m not sure if the owners are aware but the toilet kept filling every so often so not sure if there was a leaking valve. Didn’t bother us though.

Listed as described. Great views from 3rd floor balcony. Pool and pool bar were a nice treat. Room size was adequate as described and pictured. Do not expect a 5 star hotel room, it is an older condo that is well kept and loaded with plenty of beach accessories. The nearby Coconut Marketplace shops, eateries and market next door made this location a huge plus!! Everything you need. Great central place to stay in order to visit Poipu or Princeville. Minutes from the Fern Grotto and Kapaa town shops.

Overall this place was great. It had everything we needed and some beach items such as chairs, umbrellas and a cooler. The whole resort is a bit dated and the beach is quite rocky/rough. Centrally located to shops and the airport. I would definitely stay here again!

Very clean and convenient room w lanai. Handicapped accessible although it was not needed. Size is adequate for 2 night stay. Beds were comfortable. Plates, cups, glasses, utensils were conveniently available. Knives could use som sharpening. Room temperature was perfect Inclusion of beach chairs, towels and boogie board is a plus. TV was hard to operate and no instructions were provided. Welcome goodies were appreciated. Thank you.

This property is on the beach (the unit a few minutes to walk to the beach/pool/bar), central to all locations Kauai, close to a wonderful shopping area full of restaurants, gift shops and groceries. The room itself is VERY basic, nothing fancy. The sliding door to the deck is a very hard to slide to open, but that was really the only down side!

We had a nice stay at this property. It's part of a resort and walking distance to the beach as well as a shopping area with restaurants, shaved ice, and stores which was a big plus. The room itself is pretty standard with two beds and a full bath. It was clean so no complaints.

Love the condo for its proximity, amenities, and nearby Coconut marketplace shops. Bed was comfortable. Grounds are tropical and well kept. Great views of the ocean and waves from the third story balcony. Relaxing pool and tiki style pool bar! Unfortunately no laundry available, but nearby laundrymats. Parking gets a bit crowded on certain days. Overall great stay!!

It was great! Before we booked this apartment we didn't expect it to be such a cool place. There is a great market and a lot of restaurants nearby. It was the first time we booked anything through Vrbo and we are surprised that everything went smoothly. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back again. The only thing I would appreciate next time to be able to use the laundry room in the building.

The property grounds were beautiful and well-maintained, very close to the beach. We had a nice view from our outside patio. The condo itself was clean, and had all the appliances we needed--fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and a sink.The only negative comment would be regarding the safety box which was out of order due to lack of batteries. We called the management twice but no one came to fix it.

We really enjoyed staying at this property. The room was just what we wanted with a nice lanai and kitchenette. It was very close to the beach, the pool the Jacuzzi and a bar that had a happy hour. It was also close to many restaurants and bars including some with good happy hours. We did not even need to get in the car to have a drink or eat on many occasions. We were just able to walk there and walk home. It was also close to a nice beach that had good snorkeling. The location was extremely convenient for sightseeing in our car around the island.
We’re already looking forward to coming again next tear!

We have stayed at The Islander on The Beach many times and always love it. The views are wonderful, it is centrally located on Kauai, and you can hear the waves from the lani. Loved the beach equipment provided to enjoy our trips around the island. Kauai is an amazing place to visit and the islander makes it affordable with water views.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for all your day trips, and close to the river! We loved the marketplace, good eats and drinks, abc store, and shops. Bonus, there is a coffee shop right out the front door with yummy flavors and treats. The condo was clean and had wonderful views. The beach gear came in handy! My fianc√© and I were there for 6 days and we could not use the laundry facility which was a bummer. They said we were not part of the “hotel”. Also for a long stay like ours....providing extra garbage bags and paper towels would have of been nice. Bed needs new pillows and the floor needs rugs;) other than that, it was perfect for a couple!

Perfect spot for exploring the island. Loved that we were on the 3rd floor giving us the best views and very quiet. We had a little differculty managing the television (2 remotes but no instructions provided) called the islander contact person and she was extremely helpful. Had everything we needed for a 3 night getaway.

The room was just like the pictures showed.The room was nice and had a lot of useful things in the kitchen. The silverware and cooking utensils were located in two drawers under the sink area, I don’t know that I would have found them if someone haven’t told me.The bed was very comfortable, The view from the lanai was beautiful. The barbecues around the pool worked wonderfully, you just had to know that the gas valves were in the bushes where you couldn’t see them.The coconut market had lots of wonderful restaurants in the shops and was just a short walk from the condo. We enjoyed the Thai restaurant most of all. Looking forward to going down next year and hoping to get that same unit.

We stayed here a couple of nights before checking into our timeshare. It is a great central location very close to the coconut marketplace giving you lots of choices for meals within walking distance. We were not able to check into our next accommodation until 4 pm on the day we were checking out and they were nice enough to let us stay until 2 pm for free so we wouldn't have to drive around with our luggage in our car. We really appreciated that!

Pleasantly surprised by the room. Bed was very comfortable, fast internet and lots of additional amenities such as snorkel gear, beach chairs and boogie boards. Location was ideal for getting anywhere on the island and was close to a shopping center with a market and restaurants.

The location was perfect because we were not to far from north shore and east shore. There is a marketplace very close by and you can grab whatever you need, you dont need to drive it’s walking distance.

We spent a little over a week here and it was a great experience! First off, it's Hawaii! But we loved the islander on the beach! It rained a lot while we were in town, so we ended up spending a lot of time at the hotel. We ate breakfast and lunch on the balcony, and we're able to rent DVDs on site! The kitchenette was great so we could cook our own food and bring packed lunches on our excursions!

We stayed here and it is very conveniently located both on the east side of Kauai not too far from the airport and also in the resort. It is a ground floor room that has great views of the ocean and the tropical orchid garden in front of the room. The owner sent us a list of suggested things to do and places to eat. We made good use of the boogie boards and beach chairs and beach towels. The housekeeper was very helpful, too, and the room is very clean and well stocked. We liked the big tile shower and adjustable showerhead. We will definitely come back here.
