The location is perfect for walking to restaurants, beach access, groceries, shopping, etc. The condo was VERY clean and had all the amenities you needed. The lanai was great for dinners on the grille. Very quiet. The pool was perfect and never super crowded. Amazing stay and we will 100% be back. The ONLY thing I would say is that it is a tiny bit dated, but all the other positives way out weighed that! See you again, Kolea!

This development is perfect for those who want ready access to both a pool and A Bay with its beach (and turtles!). The twin beds in the unit's guest bedroom were perfect for our 2 young grandchildren. We also really appreciated the plastic dishes and cups that could be taken to the pool; and the beach towels and sand toys for the beach.

This was our second time back to this location (not the same condo but same building). It has everything you and more. Access to a pool and beach, that is not very crowded at all. Two great shopping centers and a little food market to buy groceries. We were a party of 6 that had plenty of room.

The unit itself is perfect and I already knew the pool wasn’t super close but it’s not a long walk at all. The pool area and the beach access areas were all amazing. The directions and links to the unit are all wrong. If you look to the right directly after entering the gate the building is the first one you’ll see. This may or may not help find the unit but it should narrow it down a bit.

Great experience from beginning to end. Easy process booking through Marriott Bonvoy and the Vacasa app was easy to use and very helpful.
We had a rental on the Big Island previously so know how hard it is to keep clean for renters but this condo was above and beyond clean! The amenities were also nice, and the furnishings were comfortable and in the Island motif. We would definitely stay here again.

The beach was less than a 5 minute walk and the surf was super calm the whole time. The Kings and Queens Marketplace are both a short walk away. It's rare when an on-line listing matches the reality but this one hit the mark. 1st floor 2BR unit in the well located and well maintained Kolea Kai condo development Sandwiched between the Big Hilton and Big Marriott Kolea has direct beach access and is easily walkable to all shopping and many restaurants (go to Lava Lava Beach Club many times!). We had a rental car for off premises trips (Volcanoes Nat'l Park, Hilo Botanical Gardens, Hawi, Waimea, etc., etc., but you could get by without one for sure if you're just looking for a beach vacation! The unit itself was immaculate and had a well appointed kitchen and personal outdoor grilling station. Very comfortable King size bed in the master BR and 2 small twins in secondary make it ideal for a couple or family with younger childeren. We were here in late Jan/early Feb and saw many whales spouting and breaching right from the beach (so cool)! Go and enjoy!

Our family of 4 (11 & 9 yo boys) enjoyed our stay. The condo layout is wonderful and is well appointed. Highly organized made it intuitive to make it ‘home’ for our trip. The location is perfect IMOP. North of the hustle of Kona, close enough for excursions, easy airport access, and minutes from Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.
At the time of our stay the condo included four beach chairs, three boogie boards, towels; cooler, two beach umbrellas, simple snorkel gear.
The complex this condo is located in is top notch. Beautifully maintained grounds and easy access to the beach club and ocean.
Our recommendation would be to stay here along the western Hawaii coast. Ensure you visit the Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.

We found a location to be north out of the hustle of Kona and close enough for excursions with very easy airport access, and minutes away from beautiful Hapuna State, Recreation Beach. We recommend this condo and location. The complex it is part of is wonderful with beautiful grounds. Easy access to the beach, club, and mini restaurants, shopping and amenities within walking distance.

This was an absolutely perfect place for our family vacation. The home is large, comfortable, very thoughtfully stocked with everything you need and in a great location to enjoy the beach. Just a short few minute walk from the beach and also the pool club house which felt super luxurious and was a wonderful place to spend the day and even night swimming with tiki torches lighting up the pool and hot tub areas. The house was stocked with everything you need to cook and also go to the beach, even little things like ice packs for the cooler with wheels, that just made the trip easy. Those touches made for relaxing fun days, on top of the very beautiful and comfortable home. BBQ on the lanai was also great!

Couple of things that could be fixed..refrigerator door hinge makes noise when you open it, kitchen trash can pull out organizer doesn’t work well, laundry closet door is hard to open and close and a carrot peeler for local carrots would have been nice. Could not be happier with our choice to stay at this amazing condo! Wonderful location (quick walk to Queen's Land Market), very nice pool with small sand bottom wading pool for littles, and a path from pool area leading to A-Bay (saw turtles on beach!) Condo was very comfortable, kitchen has essentials but could use a few toddler friendly utensils, cups etc. Took a bit of sleuthing and waiting on hold to get actual property managers contact info, but it was all well worth it!

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed in a Kolea unit. These are some of the nicest, most luxurious villas in the Islands! We would definitely recommend ANYONE staying here!

Have never stayed in Waikoloa but would definitely stay here again. Great location - close to shops, beaches, etc. Unit was very nice and clean. Oven glass door was broken so could t use it but otherwise a great stay

We have stayed in a number of different properties during our trips to the Big Island, and this was the first one that actually felt like a home away from home! The unit was well stocked with EVERYTHING we needed and had a cozy, casual vibe. We will definitely be renting this unit again!

My brand new fiance and I stayed at this beautiful condo for 4 nights after getting engaged in Captain Cook. It was such a treat to stay in such a lovely place!
As soon as you enter the complex, you are surrounded by the most beautifully manicured landscaping! Lush and tropical is what Kolea is all about!
The condo is outfitted with everything you'd ever need in a comfortable vacation home. Incredibly comfortable king bed with luxurious pillows, a gorgeous walk-in shower, a kitchen that offered enough cooking/baking/grilling appliances, and supplies to cook small meals or a feast for family and friends!
We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails in the solitude of the lanai before heading to Lava Lava for sunset. During the day we took the provided chairs and beach towels down to A Bay for swimming and relaxing. Coming back from the beach there is an outdoor shower before you enter the pool area which was perfect to rinse all the sand off. The pool and hot tub area is so lovely, it's easy to stop there and not make it to the beach!
A great bonus was having a covered parking area to park under! That and being on the first floor! We never heard the people above us at all!
I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back again soon!

This home is perfect for getting together with family but not giving up on space you would at a traditional hotel. Having two full rooms with attached baths, full kitchen, and a spacious living room made for a wonderful time. The first floor patio was also a plus for relaxing and added space.

This condo was in a nice gated community with a community pool and close to beach access. The beds were super comfy and kitchen had most of what we needed. They also had some outdoor play things which is always appreciated. Covered parking for one car, open lot for second car. Small patio with grill and 4 chairs and cocktail table. Walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Some places closed or lesser services due to Covid, hoping that is temporary. Good wifi. Family games. Roomy.

This was a perfect location in the Waikoloa beach area. We walked everywhere. Queens Marketplace and Lava Lava Beach Club was a quick walk just to name a few. The condo itself was well equipped and plenty of room for our party of 5. The lanai was a great afternoon hang out. The pool and the grounds are meticulously maintained. It was also great to have covered parking so the car was always cool when we used it. We had one issue while we were staying and the Vacasa crew were on it. We will be back.

This was our second trip to Kolea in the past 3 years and we will keep coming back. Location is perfect. The unit is large, clean, convenient. We are a family of 5 (including a teenager) and it met all our needs. Would highly recommend!

Great location, great place and awesome amenities. Surprised my fiancé for his birthday and since we live on island in Kona what better way to stay out where we like to spend the weekends. The condo itself is very nice with everything we needed and very clean.
