We had a great time at Hanalei Bay Resort and this unit is fantastic. Inside the unit was great and the pictures do not do justice to the views from the lanai. Essentially unobstructed views of the water and mountains. A perfect spot to watch the sunset each night. We were initially a bit surprised that the resort is set up so that you have to park and get a golf cart ride to your condo with your suitcases, etc. But, once we got settled, it was not a big deal. After that, we got some rides and chose to walk the rest of the time depending on how tired the kids were! The two beds in the loft were great for our kids (9&11) to have their own bed. The only complaint we had was that the swim up bar in the pool was closed. It sounded like there was some sort of ongoing issue between the restaurant and the bar. In any case, it seems like something that HBR needs to figure out as it would be nice to have that open again.
