We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nt stay at Hale On’tario house. It was comfortable and roomy and located in the lovely Princeville neighborhood along the 6th fairway with wonderful views. There are 2 ground floor ensuite king bedrooms plus a spacious ensuite loft bedroom that could sleep 4-5 children. (Be aware that the sound from people walking heavily in the loft does travel down into the master bedroom). It’s a superior location for all your North Shore activities and sightseeing (although some of the trails, beaches and roads were still closed due to the devastating floods of April). The popular and challenging trail down to Queen’s Bath is just 2 minutes down the street. Use caution because after recent rains it becomes a muddy, slippery slope! It’s also about a 2 hr drive to Waimea Canyon where we did the recommended Cliff Trail hike. For golfers, Princeville Makai is a must, but we also really enjoyed Puahea Golf Course down near Lihue Airport. At $65, it’s a real bargain. We spent most evenings in the cute nearby town of Hanalei and enjoyed The Hanalei Gourmet; Kalypso and Bar Acuda. With everything lush and green, this is the Hawaii we all picture in our minds!
