We got to Hanalei 2 days after the horrible flooding. Luckily the house was unharmed. Lots of homes were flooded, some wiped out by the river returning. It was sad to see the destruction. The town is very resilient and we saw people cleaning up every day and helping with relief and supplies to the areas even harder hit. We loved sitting on the balcony, looking at the mountain and waterfalls disappear in the clouds when it rained and reappear when the sun came back. The house was clean and very comfortable. The photo is a little misleading because there is another small house on the property and you see the roof when you look out. It’s still very private and the beautiful garden with palms, banana trees, ginger and heliconia is magical especially when the wind rustles everything. The house is right on the road, but it wasn’t a problem and we liked the easy walk into town and to the bay. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this rental.
