The house and grounds are well-kept and clean. Ocean views out one side and mountain views out the other. Being at the end of a dead end road there was very little traffic – something that cannot be said for the rest of the island. The house stays reasonably cool as long as the trade winds are blowing. There is no air conditioning but plenty of fans. One review said the house was musty but I’m pretty sensitive to mold/mildew smells and had no issues. The roosters may wake you up but if you’ve ever been to Kauai you know that’s part of the island no matter where you are. The location worked well for us as we wanted to see all of the island. It’s about an hour drive to Kalalau on the north and 1-1/2 to the canyon. Traffic through Kapaa can be slow during rush hour but the bypass helps. Would love to return when the piggy bank fills back up.
